It does not look realistic anymore, and it hides the bubbles, while the bubbles are what makes this picture interesting. i dont think this pictures needs a filter.

oh, I can understand your point.
To my mind this picture was too boring without adding some more bubbles and the textures.
Acutally I rarely use them, I just change the color tones but at the moment I like trying out new things. (:
