Description The Ayanos, a happy little nuclear family consisting of a demon mother, San, and a mortal father, Fraisier, and their two half-demon children Gyou and Chou. These guys have been sitting around for a while, around the time I started developing the Malkut family and what not.
They're quite silly- or at least the parents are -and they serve somewhat as a foil to Eida's family.
As such, they are all largely support characters! .o. Gyou may or may not level up to an actual free-standing character like Loen though.

-----
Gyou - 妖乃蛍
Earnest and hard-working Gyou is a blacksmith in training, apprenticing under his mother in order to to master the family trade.
His intimidating appearance, glaring eyes, and reserved taciturnity have a tendency to cause fear in those that meet him for the first time, though he really doesn't mean to give such an impression.
Rather docile and unremarkable besides, he's often overshadowed by his more 'colorful' friends Eida and Loen.

Friends since childhood with the Malkut cousins, Gyou shares a close bond with the two. As a child, he found it difficult to make friends with others of his age due to his abnormal largeness, and was often quite lonely- until he met Eida and Loen, who befriended him without fear.

But as much as he appreciates them and their company, he sometimes wishes that they would just stop trying to take advantage of his passiveness and involving him needlessly in some of their stupid antics- though he never seems to be able to get the chance to put this sentiment into words.

Serious-minded and sensible, but generally too hesitant to speak out, he's often the (usually ignored) voice of reason.
He does, however, have a bit of a perfectionist streak, and can be quite picky about details and particulars, though he seldomly voices these nit-pickings outright due to his innately quiet nature.

Gyou is his given name, as part of familial tradition of demons of his ilk; his true name is Daigo (橙吾)

Chou - 妖乃蝶
Although calm and unassuming much like her brother, little Chou is an extortionist in the making. Though young, she seems to have already discovered that good looks and pretty words can get you places- and nice things.
While not the type to cause tantrums when things don't go her way, she uses her cuteness cleverly to guilt others into obliging to her whims; and if even that doesn't work, she tends to get a little more pushy and aggressive.
She likes to be pampered and has a bit of a queenly attitude, relishing in making a footman out of anyone she can.

She used to be quite a sweet and innocent child, and at this Gyou often wonders sadly how his cute little sister could grow up to become so self-centered and spoiled.
Quite the daddy's girl, Fraisier dotes on her and treats her like a princess- perhaps the root of the problem.

Chou's true name is Tomoe (桃萌)

San - 妖乃蚕
A demon blacksmith, and mother to Gyou and Chou.
Friendly and well-meaning, she always seems to have an unaffably cheery and positive air about her.
She keeps her treasured kiseru with her at all times, though out of politeness she tries her best to resist lighting it when there are company around. At the forge, though, she always seems to be smoking while she works- something which Gyou doesn't really appreciate when he's also at work.

"But honey, there's already so many fumes everywhere! So it doesn't matter so much exactly what you breathe in! J( 'ー`)し"
Such a good mom.

She and her husband Fraisier have a burning romantic relationship even after so many years of being together, and both Gyou and Chou are often quite embarassed by their parent's mush-gushy flirting and public displays of affection. Well, at least they're a happy couple, eh?

She's a master of her trade, and the beautiful craftsmanship evident in the weapons she creates almost seems to give life to her finished pieces. Considering her creations almost as her own children, she puts an intense amount of love and care in handling them, and often goes as far as to give them names.
For this reason, she is rather scornful of those that do not take good care of their weapons...or any tool or object, for that matter.

She's good friends with Sieva, and they often have tea together while discussing their children and whatever else that moms discuss together :I

San's true name is Akane (茜)
She's also well over 300 years old, though she regularly insists that she's still quite young and peachy.

Fraisier
San's eloquent, blue-blood husband who has a great appreciation for poetic beauty and artisan aesthetics.
He was once a wanderer with no home or country to go back to; he never talks of why, though it's quite clear from his refined manners that he is of nobility.
Very cultured, he comes off as quite a gentleman, though he has a particularly thespian and overly dramatic flair.

He loves his wife San beyond anything in the world, and often expresses his undying love by whispering sweet words of love, writing poetry to her, placing extravagant bouquets in the forge, and so on. His children are often quite exasperated at his antics.

Though he has no outstanding skills of his own besides his self-proclaimed 'Refined tastes,' he usually helps out with the business end of the smithery, dealing with customers and finances.

Despite his light-hearted nature, he can be rather serious and severe when need be...though sometimes for the wrong reasons.
He's known to fly into long-winded lectures about etiquette and manners and the way of the gentleman and etc, largely towards his son Gyou. He's a bit soft towards Chou, on the other hand.

----
- The Malkut clan has an indefinite contract with the Ayano smithing business to commission weapons and the like. They're also generally on very good terms and it's not uncommon to see the Ayanos casually coming over to visit the Malkuts and vice versa.
- Agi's own personal blade, formerly a keepsake of Osma's father and thus Agi's grandfather, was one that was fixed up by San herself at the request of Osma. Agi had broken the keepsake blade while playing with it as a child, which Osma had intended to pass down to his eldest son when he was older; this event led Osma to seek out the blacksmith San, who helped to create a new blade for Agi from the old one.
- Before Eida left for Quinque Terris, Gyou crafted for her and Loen wooden amulets that, according to Gyou's words, "supposedly keeps evil things at bay." To Gyou, though, this was more of a gesture of friendship and safe travels than an actual working amulet with magical properties, so maybe there's not much to it other than sentimental value...maybe?
- Gyou loves umeboshi and it's not uncommon to see Eida or Loen trying to bait him with it when he's being particularly reluctant to join them in their shenanigans.
- San and Sieva like trying to ship Gyou and Eida, often times in joking...but sometimes seriously. Moms what are you doing.
But this does have some grounds, more so with AU Eida, where it's highly likely that she sticks with Gyou due to the proximity.
LIVING IN THE STICKS MEANS THERE'S NOT SO MUCH FISH IN THE SEA :I

GET SOME SLEEP GOOD MAN
SLEEP IS GOOD FOR YOU
10 OUT OF 10 DOCTORS AGREE THAT SLEEP IS NECESSARILY FOR LIFE

and San is very cute, and she's got a lot going on |D
She's a part of a clan of demons who are known for their prowess in making enchanted/demonic weapons; they typically serve under greater demons, and as a sign of their lowliness and submission to their ruler, their given names all have some form of the kanji of 'bug' in them (this is true for Gyou and Chou, too, though this is mostly just for tradition's sake)
Even so, they're stronger than the really low demons like Lempo; it's just that there are bigger fish up the latter, and they're bound to obey them.

San, when she was younger, wasn't so cheery and silly. She'd often kill and eat lower demons and mortals for power without so much as a blink, as this was normal for those of her clan- making powerful demonic weapons often required sacrifice of the living.
But when her masters were killed by rivaling demon lords, her clan ended up dispersing, and for a while San wandered about the mortal realms as a man-eating menace.
But over the years she settles down a little, particularly after seeing the aftermath of all her killing- her weapons, to whom she fed so many, became malevolent demons on their own and turned on her, forcing her to see the errors of her ways.
Since then she's stopped making demonic weapons, and instead puts all of her efforts into taking care of and loving her creations; this is a big part of why she hates seeing tools and weapons being abused, because it reminds her of how her past weapons ended up the way they are.

SORRY FOR DRIBBLE

FFF HAVE YOU GOTTEN ANY SLEEP AT ALL SINCE YESTERDAY NIGHT
and you've got a sharp eye then! *q* I didn't really expect anyone to notice that hohoho.

So more dribble:
San sort of softened up since her change in convictions, but was still sort of aloof from the rest of the world- she never really intended to mix in with the mortals and saw herself as apart from them. Even as she worked as a simple blacksmith, she'd often keep her customers at a distance even while being relatively friendly, and was prone to changing location frequently.
Meanwhile, Fraisier:
Fraisier has an heirloom smallsword which was originally crafted by San decades ago. It's basically his favorite thing in the world because it's so beautifully crafted, and it's saved his life on many occasions.
While travelling he sees another weapon of similar handiwork to his own, inquires about it's origins, and finds out that the creator of these artisan weapons is still around- and goes on a journey to find them hohoho because he considers the smith who made his sword to be his life's savior.
So then eventually he finds San, finds out she's quite an attractive lady and not an ancient craftsman like he thought, falls head-over-heels for her, and tries to court her daily- GENTLEMAN STYLE. Sweet poetry and serenading and flowers and all that.
San sort of just brushes him off constantly with a smile because she's not interested. However, after some time, she begins to become more receptive to his advances; she notices and recognizes the smallsword that she made in the past, and seeing it in such good condition under Fraisier's care, thinks better of him and gives him a chance.
...So everything eventually becomes mutual and now they are all lovey dovey flirty silly parents :U
THE END YEAH
