Description
Recreation of a section of the Bridge from Halo CE's Pillar of Autumn. I uploaded a darker version of this before but I wanted to see what this looked like with my usual lighting levels for comparison. This one definitely looks warmer and more inviting.
Now whether that's a good thing depends on what you're going for. I'm just kinda going for maximum eye candy so I'd call this an improvement.

nice, clean work! I am reminded that i started doing this myself a long time ago, but I never finished. i think i tried to overdo it on complexity and modularity....

Simplicity is definitely the way to go if you're starting out and want to make something you'll actually finish. That's the beauty of old game graphics and Halo CE especially.
Messing around in Halo CE and taking a good look at my surroundings made me realize and appreciate that Bungie managed to make such good looking environments with so little detail, which was very inspiring to me to the point that I decided to try recreating some of these areas. Starting from the bridge I got all the way to the cryo bay, the first room in the game. That's the first place that I decided to fully texture too and I got pretty close to finishing the whole room (like 80% done) but then for whatever reason I just lost my drive and haven't touched the project in months now. Maybe it's because I saved the least fun details for last like creating the computer machinery textures.
There's a lot of cool render ideas I was planning on doing with the cryo bay after it was done though, so thanks for the comment. Maybe I'll take a stab at it again at some point.
