This reminds me of a computer game called "Smile: The Splattering" I used to have on my old mac. You could do mean things to a Smiley face like shoot him with a laser, put him in a blender, and even give him a flesh-eating virus.
This reminds me of giving Smiley the virus. I loved to give Smiley virus. Is that bad?

i really like this, had i not seen the other smily candle picture, i would not have know what this was (i would have known its a candle haha just not a smile one)
the lighting is great, its like one warm ring around the flame then utter blackness. very contradictory. (is that a word?) and i LOVE how around the meltyness the yellow just kinda flows into red to brownish to black. and another thing, the brighter rings around the eyes. for some reason i absolutely love this one.

How nice to receive such a well-thought-out comment. A pleasant treat indeed.

I was really happy with the way the shadows and highlights turned out in this photo. Contradictory is most definitely a word. I still prefer "Sad Smile 3" but only because of the "tear" flowing down the cheek of the smiley face. Had I only put a bit more thought into my lighting for the shoot, I would have had many other photos of this that turned out as well. Sadly, I didn't think and lost a lot to poor lighting conditions.

I like this one too. Mostly because of the glow and how it accentuates it's eyes.

poor little smiley your melting his head.... love the flame and that subtle glow in the wax, wonderful effect. The boarder is cool to how the flame reaches out of it. Nice job!
