Amazing clarity. Sure this wasn't taken by the Hubble?

No and you can tell. See, according to NASA, Hubble travels at 16,800 mph and orbits the earth every 97 minutes. The little operators at the Space Telescope Science Institute got blisters on their thumbs trying to work the joysticks fast enough to focus. Not to mention if STSI is using a 4.6 - 6 billion dollar telescope to check on the tracks made by a 38 million dollar moon rover.[link] you and I are calling our senators.

Nor could I afford the $11,600 per imge price tag.

But thanks alot for the compliment.

Of course, you know that I was only complimenting you I've tried moon shots before but not since I got my 300mm lens. I also bought a 2x extender, so will have to try next full moon.

I was only having fun with more totally useless knowledge I seem to posses in abundance. Your lens setup sounds great. I look forward to seeing the results.

Hey! Nice shot of the moon...
I usually never see shots this detailed. Great shot!

What type of lens are you shooting? 70-300mm?

I am a photographer totally by accident, I shoot primarily industrial and product stuff when I do get to use my camera.

I got rid of all my Zoom lens and now only own primes(I do more video work). I am a sharpness nut. When my shots are used in advertising, focus must be spot on.

I spent all my treasure on two lenses; Canon 85mm 1.2L
and a Canon 200mm 2.8L. Though my wife still won't talk to me ( I really do miss her) they were worth every penny. They are mounted on my Conon 5D. I still struggle with the dynamic range on it but love the box anyway. The 85mm produces mind blowing portraits ( my kids no longer allow me to take their picture). Eyes just jump out at you. You have to soften age wrinkles or the ladies will never pay you. DOF is tricky too but you get used to it. If I sound like I do much portrait work I do not.

This photo was shot just after sundown on the southern shoreline of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Nuabinway, Mi. if you own a map.

I used my 200mm with a 1.5x extension.

I really need a good 15mm and 33mm to round things off.
