Description It's done, finally! This is a commissioned drawing of a Pontiac Trans AM. I am very happy with the way this drawing turned out. I am pretty confident with still life/technical drawings so I didn't have any problems. I was a bit unsure what to do with the cast shadow under the car because it looked pretty boring at first. Then I had the idea to negatively draw some lines into it to give the effect of grass. I'm glad I did that because I think it adds alot to the drawing even though it's something so simple. I am off to the frame shop tomorrow to get it framed and then deliver it to the customer. I will take some pictures of it when it's framed. Might even take a couple pictures of the customer with the drawing. I hope you guys like it. Thanks for all the comments on the WIP.

I took a couple pictures of this but they didn't do it justice at all. So I experimented with the scanner. I had never pieced a drawing together before very well but I am pretty proud of the job I did this time. I think I will be scanning alot more now. This drawing was in 3 sections. See any joints??

Wow thats awesome! you did an awesome job at scanning it too, kuz you can't see any joints of where you pieced it together haha I like the idea of adding the grass effect to the shadow! it adds a better feel to the picture. I still really like the hood of the car lmao, i love the shine! the windshield turned out really well too; and the seats in the back, i like the detail on that. Above all i love the whole picture awesome stuff! this is an instant fave from me

Thanks alot. Yeah I was proud of my scanning job. I'm a scanning machine now. I want to scan all my drawings now. That would take like a year though.

Blazinginsane In reply to golfiscool [2006-08-05 03:28:43 +0000 UTC]

lmao! haha i bet that would take a while, but i'm sure it'd be worth it once you got them scanned ^^

I can see one area where you joined the pieces together, but then I'm hyper about details. LOL! So just write me off as a freak!

This is beautifully done, Brian! You've done an incredible job on this car and I really look forward to seeing you draw more of them. You did a great job on the windshield!

Scanning is the best way. It's not too bad with pencil and B&W, because you can adjust the levels in each section to match pretty good. And you can blend together where they join. I had to do that for the paintings I scanned - I had to scan them in four pieces.

And that's very very good too.

woooooooooooooooooowww... what a great job. this is excellent!

and, me too, I don't see any joints... I know how difficult it is, to put a drwaing together... my drawings are always 8-10 pieces, and I need about 2 hours to blend them together... but I'm getting faster, and you will, too.

by the way, how much do you take for such a job... I would like that old ZZ Top Car... you can me a personal note in this matter...
