Description This is another picture taken at the same time and in the same location as Serenity. It offers a different view of the scene and a more golden light than many of the other pictures from this shoot. I am not sure how I feel about the composition of the picture overall but I love the intense golden color of the rays so much that I find it easy enough to overlook the fact that most of the picture is obscured in darkness

Thanks for the compliments. This and Sanctuary have to be two of my favorite shots. Glad that you find them as appealing as I do.

Thank you. I plan to make more attempts in this particuliar area after I buy a few filters for my camera. While my professor in college frowned upon using them, I really think I could capture the light even more distinctly by using them. I also want to see how shots similar to this will look in Black and White.

This picture and Serenity both have about 2 or three exposure varietions so that I was sure to capture the image I was looking at. Ironically the best of the Serenity set was the lightest of the three and the best of Golden Glow was the darker of the three. Don't know why it works that way sometimes but I am glad I took the time to take several successive shots.

One of these days I will get around to buying one of the nice digitals that have the same lens features etc as my old manuals. Until then thoughI will stick with my 1970s vintage cameras. It is worth paying the money to fix them just to experience photography in the way you can with older cameras...no digital readouts on the light meter, no automatic settings to shut off. Turing knobs and feeling them slip into place as you prepare your exposure instead of pressing a button...it is a really unique and relaxing experience.
