Raiden - Metal Gear Solid 4Although slightly annoying in MGS2, Raiden COMPLETELY redeemed himself in MGS4!!
Epic Character redesign and battle scenes made him one of the games stand out characters for the right reasons this time
All painted up in PS-CS4

At the risk of sounding over-dramatic, I don't think I can adequately express how brilliant I think this piece is. I love the detail, especially the scratches and scrapes on the metal. I also love how you have put little things in like the warning not to touch the lens surface and the bar code.

It was a part I was really worried about, but ended up being the easiest part on the whole damn thing
Just a contracted selection of the base, a couple of airbrush swoops and a 100% opacity eraser to make the clear parts.
(I tend to work everything on it's own layers, highlights shades etc so makes it easier for me to do stuff like that)

Did you use a reference pic to make this? (if so, can I see it?) In any case, lovely detailing. Everything is spot on! It's so realistic I wouldn't second guess it if someone told me it was official artwork!

Hi,
I didn't use any one ref pic to create the image.
It started out as a rough sketch (same as my Halo pic [link] )
And then a whole lot of ref was used (including playing the game 
Annoying thing is, the text on his eye piece/ear piece changes from picture to picture on the net, and is too low quality in most of the game to see exactly what it says, so I just picked the one that looked like it was the closest fit.

There's the watermark feature, but it's UGLY!
As I wasn't doing the picture for any profit, I didn't bother with the watermark.
Just had a look at your project, sounds great but illustration is also my job. It hardly leaves me any time to even do my own stuff
Good luck with the project though. I'm sure you'll find plenty of others here on DA that are good enough to work on it.
