Description
Just a quick little thing I did over winter break. Lila Cheney was always one of my favorite superheroes design and power wise, even if to this day I know a minimal amount about her.Related content

I like the artwork here. It's just plain well done.
Although, who is Lila Cheney?
She kind of looks like that wannabe Paul Stanley from Digimon Cyber Sleuth. Of course I don't mean to make comparisons other than physical looks.
Still, who is she?

Thank you!
Lila Cheney is a Marvel character. I would say she’s most prominent in the New Mutants books. She’s essential a teleporting interplanetary rock star, so yeah I can totally see the comparison to Paul Stanley! They have the same kinda hair metal look.

Yeah, I guess they are similar.
And now now that I think about it, she doesn't remind me of that Jimiken guy from cyber sleuth. she does remind me of Paul Stanley though.

I like the scraggly lines and the watercolor shading. I like how some of the texture in her hair goes outside the lineart. The contrast of all the dark greys and purples in the character verses the light background is really good. I like how she's leaning against her guitar.
I would suggest have the background behind her be more prominent. It looks a little like a stage with all the lights. so maybe have that be the background. You started to have the shadow be going in front of her face, but it's a little messy. I would use the lightsource of the "stage" the shade her. You could also go over her outline where she's closest to the light with yellow to give it some atmospheric coloring. Do all the dark shadows in a royal blue of some kind.
You could still have the cool geometrics spirals on the stage and have those little floaties, either having them being glows from the stage light or even fireflies. It would also be easy to do a silhouetted crowd, with just a few hands sticking up.
While the pose is pretty good, the feet and fingers are a little messy. Her one foot looks flat, and her fingers are fat and jumbled. You did do something interesting with her resting her weight on the ball of her other foot, but again the toe looks like a rectangle rather than a rounded foot.
If you didn't want the background to be a full illustration, I would have the blocked color a little lower on her head. And you could still give her guitar and feet a shadow behind it just to give it a little more interest and give her a little more ground rather than having her floating.
I get with a sketch like this it doesn't have to be too polished. and overall this is really good. There's just a few things that can take this simple sketch and make it pop a little more.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm working on refining my light sources, so I really appreciate the tips!
