That's just a perfect way of illustrating their relationship. By themselves, they are merely halves, both of them missing a vital part in their life... Together, they form a complete human being, ready for the world. This is brilliant! ^^

I was going to ask, why the decision to leave their faces blank?

I can draw sherlock pretty well, but watson's face has always baffeled me, no matter how hard I try, it looks jarring a wrong when I put it in. plus it makes drawing the comics much easier, and leaves the reader to impose their own emotions on the chractecters ( but most of all, I am a very very lazy person TT.TT and it makes the drawing 10x quicker)

To be honest, when artists leave the facial features out, I find it creepy, I can't identify with the characters at all. If you are going to keep on doing comics and art, don't go for what is easy, challenge yourself. I'd rather see a poorly drawn version, than someone who won't even bother.

I personally think the most distinctive thing about martin freeman is his eyes, and his adorable nose. Plenty of people are out there making gifs from the show with his expressions. Your drawing does not have to be exact to get the idea across.
