Description
[so that you will hear me]so that you will hear me,
my words
sometimes they grow thin.
I watch my words go all about
spreading everywhere like a plague,
but never touching you.
I sat next to you at your desk
tucked in a blanket with my head on your shoulder
"are you done yet?" I asked hopefully.
you said "no"
and pushed my head off and continued to write.
I pulled the blanket closer and secretly cried.
here I love you, but I can't say it
is it because I don't?
or Is it because I'm scared that you'll say nothing back.
I cast my eyes in your direction and opened my mouth
the words tumbled out.
I see them screaming your name, hoping that you'd care
but none of them make a sound.
I closed my mouth and watched my silent scream die off
and succumb to the scratching of your pen.
