Until I saw this, I had no idea the European version of the Super Nintendo looked the same as the Super Famicom. I wonder why they made a different design for the American version?

I think what I will mention you already knew, the lighting is strange at the bottom left part of the console and at the game cartridge upper-right part, but I donΒ΄t know what you must do to fix that or the source of the problem. I donΒ΄t seen any problem anywhere else of your artwork thought.

As you can see, I had some problems working with alpha transparency

Alpha transparency? for which object(s)?

on all the Nintendo inscriptions+start&select , they are actually planes with transparency

ah is it just a mesh plane placed overtop of the things, or is it an actual block-ish mesh? if it's just a plane, having it as a closed shape might help, more surfaces to consider in Blender's refraction calculations

a plane a closed shape? But the problem is not really in blender but with Yafaray. I tried .tga, .png, positive/negative alpha, I only get strange effects.

whoops, forgot about that...I've only used Yafaray once, and it didn't work very well
