Digital coloring of:No one said "nay" to the spiked fins. So I went ahead and kept them.
For any wondering: this is yet another Transformers-inspired orca, and probably the only Bayverse-orca design I'd bother with, as I liked the character of Barricade so much. [link]
Yes. He has doubled pupils, owing to the fact his robot form has four optics, not two.
Note: this is another 3 to 5 AM coloring job. Let's see if I come back to this later, after getting some sleep, and revamp it completely.

Makes me think of the clan dolphins from Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future. They were really spiky too. Only they were spiky in a much gaudier way.

And therein lies the reason I thought to omit spikes from Barricade, but decided I couldn't, as there wouldn't be many other ways to convey the spiker aspects of his robotic design.

No, his spikes are tasteful. Unlike the clan, who are so over-the-top spiky they end up looking silly.

I've seen some clan dolphin art here and there around DA. Best I can tell, there are different iterations. Some don't look that silly, but I can't say they look menacing, either.

Except Mutaclone, he's menacing as hell.
Fun fact: The symbol they all have on their sides is called a Tomyoe. It is a japanese symbol that represents the play of forces in the universe. What the clan is saying by wearing this symbol is that they control those forces. That the universe depends on them. They could not be any more arogant. They remind me of the Guardians from Dolphin Way.

It's a bit strange, but I think it's very good.
One part cracked me up when they were talking about how to deal with humans. The number one rule is don't let them know just how intelligent you actually are. 
That's my only complaint about the book is that they have different names for EVERYTHING. And there's no glossary. >.<

At the time I worked on it, it felt that way. Or maybe that was just me feeling eager to share the finished version. Anticipation is a killer in and of itself.

Yes. But I hold myself to a rule regarding designing TF-orcas: not to use any 'artificial' markings, such as writing or Autobot/Decepticon emblems. Much as I would've liked to include "To Punish and Enslave", to write that along his tail wouldn't have much meaning in this form. I doubt most other orcas would have the capacity to read and understand it.
