I’ve been working on Gale’s origin story again. If you’re not familiar with the setting, here’s a link with a scrunched down summary of names and terms: here
The dogs are sort of antagonists. They belong to a celtic village Marmareon (Gale) attempts to settle in. They’re not real celtic dogs, they’re a fictional breed given to the village by a local god named Bui. For generations they’ve been an asset. Loyal companions! But they’re loyal to Bui. They can communicate with it and tattle any time someone in town does something that offends the god. It gets deadly.
*and no one is surprised that my dogs turn out to be the bad guys
