Description I watched the 1984 "Fire and Ice" not too long ago and (being a big fan of Frank Frezetta) really liked it. It could have been one of the most awesome animated movies of the 80's had Ralph Bakshi put more effort into the story and characters.

Really liked Nekron and his mum, Juliana, the best, even if Nekron was just a perfect asshole. He was a really cool, sexy villian you could still enjoy watching though.

If you havn't seen it and are a fan of different animation hunt it down on Netflix or somewhere. Its worth a watch.

Holy crap I had no idea this was even a thing until now, thanks! Not sure how bad he could mess it up as long as he stays with Frank Frezetta's vision.
Because the part Larn was climbing the tree to get away and the guy chasing him thought he could only drag him down if he gropped the living hell out of Larns sweet ass wasn't one of its stronger moments.

Yeah, The original film isn't that good, but it is sort of a guilty pleasure for me. (heck, maybe even a straight out pleasure)

EXACTLY, its not as terrible as a lot of films but its accidentally hilarious and has a lot of enjoyable qualities. Course I have some dumb guilty pleasures.

I have this lying around somewhere but I've never seen it. I've heard people like it, but movies this old tend to have the worst audio quality. It doesn't distract too much or anything?

Really? Cant believe you could find it, unless its not in one piece. The audio is pretty decent for its time, actually. Depending on the quality of the video you have. Its just they shot it in live-action with a few bad actors before they animated over it... making it a little cringe-worthy. I love the style and the look of everything though, prolly just me. XD

I got it from someone who had transferred it to DVD. So I guess the audio should be fine then Ooh, that sounds like the animated Lord of the Rings film, I think they did that too. I think it's pretty and all, but when people's wrinkles just disappear because the actor's wrinkles weren't visible, it looks weird.

Oh god I know... its so creepy. Some shots make them look really old with the wrinkles too. Its as though one scene they'd look normal and then their expression would change and they would look like they had brain damage.

It’s been a while since I saw it, but I agree, the actual story and characters have less depth and structure than the rest of the badly produced live action fantasy movies of the eighties. It could have been much more special than it was.

I really love the poses and interaction in this! Very organic and natural, plus you’ve done a great job of capturing Nekron’s weirdly animalistic/mastermind/git design and personality I also love that it looks like you’ve made Juliana’s figure more generous than Teegras which makes sense and is much more interesting than in the film, where it looks like they used the same model for both lol

LOL, god they look like they tried though. The animation was great for its time, have to admit.Thank you so much, really trying to work on shading and highlights. How do you make your lines so crisp and clean?
Teegra was hot but I got bored with her constantly being chased and kidnapped, Nekron's bitch mom held my attension a bit more for some reason.

The animation was certainly level with other animations from the early eighties I do love what you are doing with the shadows and highlights so far, very sparse, but effectively used

Most of the time I draw my lines on paper and scan them in. After they’ve been scanned I usually tweak them a little with the smudge and paintbrush tools to make them a little smoother.

Teegra was indeed smoking hot! But I can’t remember what she contributed apart from being the repeated victim of kidnappings and assaults. Juliana was a strong bitch with a great rack and a sweet purple robe, what’s not to be fascinated by! (apart from, you know, her kidnapping women)

Yeah, then you got to question Nekrons sexuality when he denies Teegra. Heard they cut out a lot of underlying incest scenes in the movie and had to settle with parts of the plot.

Smudging and redrawing can help soften or sharpen things a lot I hope it helps.

I must admit I wouldn’t be refusing a curvy girl in a tiny bikini as venomously as Nekron did. And the incest thing does make sense, more sense than him being randomly insane at least, they should have kept it But it doesn’t look like they were too bothered with it making much sense anyway lol.

Sopposedly it looked great because how uncomfortably the actors reacted to eachother during the scenes..XD Then they cut out Darkwolf being Nekron's father for some reason and just gave up.

Some people have never cared about the story especially when they have pretty things and explosions to distract audiences with. I love half naked women and special effects as much as anyone, but sometimes you really do need a story to hold it all together LOL
