All those comments at the top are based off of real comments I've seen recently on deviantart that have really ticked me off. I just made them a little nicer and took out some of the swearing and bad grammar. No, I won't link to the comments. I don't want to bash anyone over this, I just want to express my frustration with some things people say without doing any research or getting to know who they're talking about. Thank you to anyone who actually read this whole thing, and if you are one of the people who've done this and you've learned a thing or two, I'm glad! I don't hate anyone who does this, I just think they need to really stop and think about what they're saying. Anyway, that's all I had to say and I'll go back to the things I'm supposed to be working on.Credits:

Yes, I totally agree with everything here! People who do nothing but complain about other people's ships really piss me off. Like, I mean, we all have ships we dislike, but there's only so much negativity that one can spew before they cross a line and become part of the problem. I don't get why people won't just ship and let ship. As you said, most bashed ships at least have some historical or canonical evidence backing them up, and even if they don't, so what? It's not some sort of crime, it's not like it's undeniably canon and no one can ship anything else, it's just somebody pairing something that makes them happy. And people complaining about ships being 'overrated' annoys me too; it something's popular, it's probably for a good reason. (I know I've said that the prevalence of Turkey/Ukraine irritates me, but that's more just because that one Ukraine group was swamped with it and I couldn't find anything else; I really have no problem with the ship, I just don't ship it). I also agree with you about disliking it when people say ships 'ruin friendship' or are just for 'TEH YAOIZ.' People aren't giving fans enough credit. They don't ship something with the sole intention of 'ruining a friendship,' nor do they generally just ship something for 'sexhay times.' (And even if they did, so what? It's just their ship ... as long as they're not portraying anything offensively, they're doing no wrong.) -_-

Exactly! Everyone is entitled to like and dislike what they want, but do people really have to put so much focus on it? Like you said, there should be a limit. I have pairings I dislike, too, but in my opinion, as long as it's not disrespecting real people or glorifying something morally wrong (such as pedophilia or slavery) then there's nothing wrong with pairing what you like. It's all just a way of appreciating some form of entertainment and isn't harmful to anyone. I can even enjoy a good debate about why I ship certain things. However, some people refuse to listen to anyone's reasoning and just make assumptions, and that's what I really find annoying. It's similar to my feelings toward hate groups on deviantart. Even if it's not what they intend, it feels like their trying to force some sort of zero tolerance for whatever they're choosing to hate, and it takes away a lot of the enjoyment. I know I've said this before, but I just don't get people who waste their time hating things.

EXACTLY. I find hate groups personally repulsive, because, just as you say, it's like they can't see anything beyond their hatred. And it must be so miserable focusing so much of your time and effort on disliking something.

If treaties were like marriages, WTF happened to the Sino-Soviet one? And if those Rochu haters out there did their research, they could find AT LEAST 100 reasons just floating around Deviantart, which is an art site. If I could find 100 reasons to ship Rochu on Deviantart, then how many more could you find when you get off your lazy butts and stopped spewing hate from your filthy mouths? Besides, shouldn't people be allowed free will to love who and what they want to, you control freaks? RoChu is my personal OTP as well, and this is a claim I've seen everywhere. It's like...uh-huh. And you did how much research to back up this claim? Turn on the news. There's stuff about these two all the time. It's actually kind of amusing since these claims make them look, well...dumb. XD It happens with almost all opinions, though. People claim things without bothering to check the facts. At least those of us who are aware of the facts get to sit back and laugh at these morons.

I don't know what is wrong with people in Hetalia fandom, that they're so super-sensitive over the pairings there.
There are thousands of other fandoms with tons of different pairings and people don't make rants and wars about it.
If someone criticizes your favourite pairing, just ignore and move on with what you like.
There's no need to stop, turn to them and start your lecturing about why you like it and whatnot, because it doesn't work like that.
I used to be a part of Hetalia fandom, but people ruined it for me.
I do still like France and England, but I enjoy them in private, in my own pace.Β
And when I see people judging them, I just pretend I didn't see anything and not get angry.
Because it's the internet - a place, where people with no common sense can state their weird opinions and claim that they're saint.
I know plenty of fandoms, with many various pairings.Β
There are also people who state that "this pairing is dumb and makes no sense blah blah".
But no one flips at them and writes an essay about "100 reasons why you're wrong".
It happens mostly in here, in Hetalia fandom. Where people seems so stuck in their favourite couples, that if someone mentions something different, you guys start rage'ing, like the World War III is about to start.
Now, before you rage at me - I am not fond of people who go and see stuff they disapprove, just to judge it and rant about it.
Such people are just desperate for attention and can't accept the fact, that different people like different stuff.
But when you actually care about what they say and write a rant response, you're no better than them.
You basically feed them with your interest. That's what they want.
They want you to get angry and throw out all the arguments you have against their opinion.
That's all.

Okay, I think you really missed the point here. A lot of the people who write their reasons for shipping something are doing it for fun. I know I did. I absolutely and totally do not care if people have different opinions than me. What bothers me is when people make incorrect assumptions about something and then call me an idiot or disgusting for those reasons. If someone just says "I don't like it," more power to them. If someone says "you only ship RoChu because of communism! That's disgusting!" Then I rant. Also, the likelihood that people who say these things will actually see this is actually pretty low. It's not like I put this out there in any groups or anything. I created this rant to vent my frustrations and not to prove a point. If I truly cared what these people thought and wanted to start a debate with them over it, I'd reply to their comments directly. Instead, when people say these things to me, I just close out and ignore them. My frustration just built up and I needed to let it out someway.
And yes, if someone said these things about me in another fandom, I'd say the same thing. Actually, I'd say this if I saw these things being said about just about anything. That's why I said quite a few general things such as "don't judge anyone you don't know" and such. I've been judged for my religion, my stance on certain political things, and a lot, and I've written just as many rants before. This time, though, my trigger was something a little less serious, so I did it in comic form just to be a little goofy.
So before you call me a "super-sensitive" fangirl, consider the fact that you might not know everything. I've put up with hate being thrown directly at me over these things for about two years, and I finally decided to stand up and say something. I get the point your trying to make here, and those things are actually usually things I say myself. There's just only so much a girl can take before she says something about it, and instead of replying to those people and fueling them, I did this. If someone who hates these things sees this and starts raging, I'll continue to ignore them as usual. I did this for me and me alone, so if they try to start an argument over it, I simply won't care.

I just simply don't get the point in explaining to someone why you like a certain pairing.
It's your own thing and you don't have to excuse yourself to people, who have quick and random assumptions.

You still seem to be under the impression that I explain myself to prove something to people who disagree with me. I don't. There are plenty of situations in which one might be compelled to explain themselves. I wrote my "Reasons Why I Support RoChu" journal not because I wanted to prove something to haters, but to answer a bunch of legitimate questions I was getting. See, awhile back I had a lot of people coming to me asking me why I shipped RoChu, not out of spite, but out of genuine curiosity. They saw a lot of haters claiming it had no backing, but yet it was one of the most popular pairings in the series. Since I like talking about my favorite ships, I happily explained it to them. Often times, those people would walk away shipping it themselves, and since I like having people I can share my love of something with, I didn't complain. Unfortunately for me, if any of those people I explained it to had someone come and ask them why they shipped something, they'd tell the person to note me since they thought I explained it best. I wrote my journal just to kind of sum it up for people so that I wouldn't have to keep explaining myself. I have no need at all to prove anything to anyone, but if someone has a legitimate question, it's a lot easier to have an answer for them in already written down and easily accessible.
I know full well I'm not the only one who is incorrectly judged by my ships, and that's why I uploaded this rant in the first place. This wasn't just some tantrum that I was throwing, I did it for the enjoyment and fun of those who are like me (particularly my watchers who, for the most part, share my frustration.) Actually, you're the only person who has commented on this who isn't both a watcher and close friend of mine. This was made just to get some anger out of me, and it was uploaded as something for those who are like me. I'm not trying to throw a tantrum, nor am I trying to prove anything to anyone. I mean, really. Seeing your favorite pairings bashed by Vocaloids is pretty comical to some people. XD I know I thought it was amusing, and most of my watchers seem to enjoy the rant as well, particularly since it gives them an opportunity to share their reasons for liking something to people with like minds. It's all in good fun and I think you're taking it a bit more seriously than was intended.
