this makes me think of Andre Derain's painting of Matisse. I think it's the colours.
the complexity of people is really well articulated. I find it interesting how we display different facets of ourselves to different people and depending on the context too.

your so right.. never even saw the peter maxness of it--- it's the handdrawn black lines i think that give it that look... the colours definitely help too.

Looking at this makes me feel hopeful. I love the little black swirl in his chest near his heart- I think it's that lighthearted energy, like your heart skipping a beat.

it was. it taught me a lot.. but it also made the other people involved a closer group of friends.. so in a way some good came out of it .
