Hey hey, happy trans day of visibility! I didn't realize today was such a special day, and I decided to take the opportunity to draw these three and talk about their respective headcanons because I've been really wanting to do that for a while.

Joan, on the left, is non-binary. They moved out to live on their own as a teenager and spent several years sort of figuring themself out; joining the Gilded Cabaret and meeting Favonius was a big step for them being able to embrace their identity.

Favonius is androgynous; they have some days where they may feel more masculine or feminine, but generally fall somewhere in the middle. Their fascination with the circus as a child led them to meet all sorts of outcasts who had found a home there, and eventually just learn to be their eccentric self and present however they felt like.

Wenwer, on the far right, is a transgender man. I've actually had this headcanon about him for several years; he realized at a very young age that he wasn't comfortable being seen as a girl, and his transition was part of the reason his parents split up since his mother realized she didn't want to be with someone who would no longer support their son. He sometimes feels self-conscious about his appearance or his interests - part of the reason he hides his childhood love of fairies is he doesn't want to be seen as "girly" - and doesn't really tell a lot of people about his transition. He's just Wenwer, and that's all that matters.

I get nervous talking about these three sometimes, Wenwer especially, because having trans representation is really important and I get nervous about messing it up somehow. But you can't have good representation if you don't share it, so I just wanted to take the time to do that today, and to tell all my watchers of all different genders that these three support you, and love you no matter what!

(hhhhhhh it feels good to finally talk about Wenwer specifically though like you have NO idea how long I've wanted to get all that out, literally in the VERY first iteration of his design the little tank top thing under his shirt was supposed to be a binder - of course it isn't now because he's a lizard lmao, no boobs to bind)
