Sorry I left out the trombones, bass clarinets, and French horns --- I didn't have any room left. x___________________x (And sorry if I left out any others that I'm forgetting about right now.)

Some of the descriptions are inside jokes, so I'll explain them here:

Tuba
Our band teacher calls all the "big" instruments (bassoon, trombone, euphonium, tuba, bass clarinet, etc) "the dinosaurs".

Euphonium
Our band teacher calls the euphoniums "baby tubas." Once when I was in an Irish flute class, our teacher pulled out his different flutes, and when he took out his bigger flute, (with Irish flutes, the flutes in different keys can sometimes be different sizes) he held it up to one of the smaller ones and was like, "See, this is a baby flute. Apply Miracle Gro and it becomes a bigger flute!" So I just put the two together.

Trumpet
The bit about being a murder weapon is a joke off of a dream I had. (Go here: [link] and read #5.)

Flute
In 6th grade, all the kids in band go over to the Elementary School and play a couple songs for the 4th graders. When I went (I'm now in 8th grade), I was trying to convince this kid to play the flute and I was like, "Look, it doubles as a weapon. Get mad at your sibling and you can just stab 'em through the chest!" Yeah, I was a violent little 6th grader. xDDD

Saxophone
Everyone in my band class calls the saxophones "saxamaphones."

Oboe
One day in band this girl was playing the highest note she could on her oboe for her friend and someone else was like, "Gah!! That sounds like a dying goose!!" Thus, dying goose impressions.

Bassoon
My friend plays bassoon, and she says people constantly call them oboes. Oboes and Bassoons are about as different as you can get. If it's not obvious enough in how I drew them, then go here:

Bassoon: [link]
Oboe: [link]

And yeah, my friend said she constantly has to threaten people about calling her bassoon an oboe: "Call this pwnful bassoon an oboe one more time and I'll personally rip off your head."

Piccolo
Direct quote from my friend, who plays flute and piccolo. Well, a single piccolo can tune (but it's hard), but as she put it: "If you have two piccolos playing together, there's only one way to make them in tune. Shoot one of them." xDDD

Well, there ya go. Hope you guys like it.

(Oh, and sorry about the green everywhere. The green marker from [link] leaked through the page.)

*shakes head* Goodness, yes... I play flute as well as bassoon (majoring in bassoon), and it is constantly called an oboe by those who know not. Then, when someone asks which instrument you play, you need an encyclopedia so they can have some clue of what it is. Ah well.

Where I live, we commonly call our saxophones "saxogroans." Just wanted to share.

I love the piccolo comment... And especially the Euphonium one since it's my precious precious baby... You can hug it and give it warmth, and the love will come to you when you play it with all your heart... =] Great job on the drawings!
