Here is something historical. It's a postbox, which in itself wouldn't be of much interest, but what is interesting is that it's a still working postbox from the Victorian period and it's the original green colour. This was taken outside of Rochester Museum, Kent, late last year.

UK post boxes were originally different colours, then standardised to green, but have been red since the mid-1870s, due to complaints that green post boxes didn't stand out. However, there are some that seemed to avoid this reddening and maintained their green livery. Also note the VR symbol on its front, which denotes what monarch was reigning when the postbox was erected. In this case, it's during the reign of Queen Victoria.

Now ends the history lesson. Postboxes are still in use, but the Internet has been weakening their role as means to delivery correspondence for some time now. How long they'll remain is anyone's guess.
