Couldn't be more beautiful - the extreme sharpness together with the faded background is puuurrrrrfect!

Weird little adorable fuzzball. I don't know if I want to squeeze it to death because of its cuteness, or hit it with a stick because of those freakishly HUGE eyes!
Amazing shot, like, most EVERY one of your pictures!

thanks alot, but please dont squeeze it nor stick it... justr a small cute animal, gets eaten regularly by wild dog, so no easy life....

Heh. Well I don't plan on being anywhere near whatever continent this creature lives in, and, if I 'did' see it, I'd likely just take a picture and that's that - if I was even lucky enough to be able to take a picture!

sure sure. Its here in East Africa... Indeed they are a bit shy, so you need top know the places where they arent... I had a lucky shot that day.

That you did. It seems you're able to get many 'lucky shots', but also, you likely have a CRAZY powerful (and thus, expensive *sigh* ) camera I don't think I could afford ANY time soon!

What camera do you currently use? And, how long have you been doing photography? (Taken any professional/school courses? [And if so, for how long? ])

I am using mostly a D200, and lenses up to 500mm on the barrel, meaning depending on sensor, could be 750 to 1000 mm (35 mm equiv). Never took a course always trying and reading, and doing that off and on for 25 yrs. Sometimes no ideas at all, sometimes no budget. Never mattered Cameras dont deteriorate.
Dont get into dispair, some of the 'bridges cameras' have lenses up to 500 mm, at a reasonable prize, and besides wildlife you dont really need them.

How much is the camera you're currently using? - And CRAP that's close!
Good to see someone succeeding without needing to take any 'professional' courses (- though I'm still student age, and likely forced to remain one longer than usual due to medical reasons...
-) and, what's a "bridge camera", exactly?
Also - to ask you even more questions than I already have
- how much would you say a 'reasonable price' would be for one of these 500 mm cameras? Approximately, in 'unofficial/off-the-record' guesstimates?
...

well D200 is out of production and actually D90, new model has better feature and most importantly, better image quality. Check it out on the web, i believe something around 1000 Euro for a kit should be possible. D5000 same image quality as D90 but even cheaper.
bridge camera: fixed zoom lens about 10-20x looking a bit like a small DSLR. Example would be Canon Powershot SX 10, Casio F1 (rather expensive through its highspeed features). They come around 500 Euros, but with that kind of lens, that is cheap.
The rest is googling on the internet, as I dont know where u r, you need to find out urself. Cheers

Thanks for all the suggestions. I only own a Nikon Coolpix P100 right now (I think it is... - Yup it is), so I'll go with that for a while, and see how my 'hobby' photographing goes and take it from there.
Again, thanks for all the good (- and confusing -) camera names!
