Robert Stanford Tuck flying a Spitfire on his last mission, flying over the English Channel at 20 feet. he was shot down over France and became a POW until the end of the war.This painting was done from a description of this flight in Tuck's book "Fly For Your Life"

Excellent aviation paintings, David!
I think out of the ones that you have posted, I like this one the best. You have really captured the emotion as the planes wave-hop along to their destination! So often, I've seen artists completely concentrate on the machines, and neglect the background. You have great control in depicting both the planes andthe landscape, which is an essential element (in my opinion) to make this genre of art successful!
