I feel like she doesn't really need a fire attack, character creation wise, with transmorphic metal boobs. The fire doesn't really fit with the theme of metal tit powers.

More though she could use a shirt...

It's the Quiet conundrum, any time you make skimpy outfits a necessary aspect of the character's abilities it lessens the character because it lessens their agency. They're not choosing to dress like that as an aspect of their character, the creator is forcing the character to do it, essentially.

Sort of like Anita Blake Vampire Hunter, L.K. Hamilton wanted her to have lots of sex in the books, but she'd written the character as someone who wasn't like that.

So instead of having her grow or evolve as a character she inflicted unwanted vampire powers on her so she had to have lots of anonymous sex or die. She has to fuck, or she dies, leaving her no choice in the matter, essentially making her a kind of sex slave. Every time she had sex it would be a kind of little rape, the kind that would encourage her to commit rape, oddly enough.

It's the kind of thing that would cause depression, anxiety, self loathing, but instead it's just played off.

Which is why Anita Blake the character winds up sucking... Well, aside from everyone hilariously underestimating a woman famous for slaying supernatural creatures because she's a woman. Ironically this makes them right, because the only reason she wins is because she's always underestimated.

But yeah, I always say minimize the number of things about a character that exist for reasons they have no control over. Also don't play it off like a personality trait. There's a big difference between a character who goes shirtless all the time because they like to, and one who has to or they'll get heat stroke. One is a fun loving shirtless weirdo, and the other is most likely to be the literal opposite of that.

And I'm saying it's a shitty joke character.

The "character who embodies all the problems" thing is the start of the parody, it's not a joke in and of itself. As in the character itself is out of the context that generates the punch line.

Anyone can make a shitty stereotype character for the lulz, unless it's exaggerated into the ground or put in a story's context there's no joke.

Even when taking into account the previous posts (which themselves in no way set up a parody character) there's just nothing funny. Unless pointing out stupid character stereotypes makes you laugh.

But again, creating a character like that isn't itself a joke, it never calls attention to why this set of traits is weird or what's wrong with making a character like this. It never makes a point about any greater trends or anything like that, it just sits there.

And as far as character traits go they're all things that could be made to work, the traits themselves aren't ridiculous or heinous enough to make the joke work, they're just an ill advised combination.

I should point out that it doesn't matter what the character wears or acts like.

But you can't pretend that a character is empowered while specifically pointing out they have no control over what they wear.

Also I would never wear a fedora, that's a women's hat.

Really any time I see Spiderman I think of the canon Spideypool. OTP for life. Maybe in future movies we'll get a little bromance action with the two like they implied in Deadpool's game. And what's canon in the universe, multiple times over in multiple AUs. Β  Well, not bromance. Totally homo no bromo. The kiddo playing the new Spider Man is adorable, I think it'd be something worth tuning into.

Also I would never wear a fedora, that's a women's hat.

" oh no I would never do something a woman would do, im not sexist just sayin yo because im against women having powers they cant control but wearing what a woman wears thats taking it to far yo"

History lesson

During the nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century, hats and caps were a necessary part of a well-dressed man's daily wardrobe. Between the 1890s and the 1960s, one of the most popular hats was the fedora, a soft felt hat with a brim and tapered crown with a crease down the center. For several decades gangsters, politicians, fashionable bachelors, and conservative family men all wore fedora hats whenever they left home.

How about you stop deciding what women or characters in general can and cannot do when they are not your characters. Wolves dont usually wear hats either and making animals wear clothes in general is someplaces concidered animal abuse. Β ;3

Oh yeah they arent real life, they are fiction so its not the same. *smack of the head*

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

russetwolf13 In reply to griffsnuff [2016-01-30 10:58:06 +0000 UTC]

The word fedora comes from the title of an 1882 play by dramatist Victorien Sardou, Fedora being written for Sarah Bernhardt. The play was first performed in the United States in 1889. Bernhardt played Princess FΓ©dora, the heroine of the play. During the play, Bernhardt – a notorious cross-dresser– wore a center-creased, soft brimmed hat. The hat was fashionable for women, and the women's rights movement adopted it as a symbol.

OOOOH SNAP! Out historied, dog!
