Description
EDIT: In response to the requests to offer translations, this is the site I am currently using: www.eilistraee.com/chosen/lang…The font can be found with a simple Google search, as various sites offer it.
However, the old translator I had used at the time of the translation is no longer working, and some of the words above won't translate properly, or at all. So I will be making an updated version of this soon to reflect this.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a nerd, as in the kind that is horribly obsessed with little details about a world. And one of my favorite fantasy races of all time happens to be the drow/dark elves, so they are often at the center of my obsession of designing and weaving some new ways of viewing them.
Here is just a snippet of how far I go into this. Drow writing, according to this book I once found on the race (forgot to write down the title, but it was at Barnes and Noble), is supposedly very similar to Japanese/Chinese writing in structure. Combined with the Ssamath fonts and translators online, I tried my hand at mimicking how a drow might write something.
This is just a practice sheet, translated very carefully from English to Ssamath and then into the appropriate characters. The hardest part about writing all this was keeping my hand smooth and steady, since it’s been almost three years since I last did any calligraphy work in earnest, but I’m glad for how it came out.
You start at the top right-hand corner, and read in columns. Punctuation marks are made in the corners of the individual squares, and both House marks already are assigned a meaning (The first one is House Baenre, the one that looks like a spider eye is of my own drow character’s clan, House Teken'mtor).

The irony here is my actual handwriting is usually illegible, but I'm glad that my calligraphy looks awesome! Thank you

Exactly, considering that calligraphy is more like drawing at times ^^ Still, thank you so much for the encouragement, and I hope you do very well if you try your hand at it too!

Link please~ If there's any language I want to learn (as best as one can learn an incomplete fantasy language), it's Drow.
