Another on and off drawing I've been doing in place of the lack of motivation for another picture. This took a while longer than it should have as I was designing GRIP like manufacturer logos for a couple of my fan made concept car companies.

The 4th car to get the V2 treatment is the XTRA Lazcar 4000, now renamed to the "Lazurith". It's manufacturer XTRA is a fan made concept manufacturer that is inspired by the idea of bonus or extra unlockable vehicles that don't belong to any of the established manufacturers. In a nutshell this would be the bonus car category in most other racing games.

The Lazurith's initial concept was both inspired by Speedbowl's (a course in GRIP) description as well as IMSA GTP cars. I figured since Speedbowl was designed like a halfpipe, those Lazcars (I assume their version of NASCAR set into the far future) would have had high downforce to keep themselves planted to the ceiling. And since IMSA GTP cars produced a load of downforce in real life as well as racing on Daytona Speedway, I thought it would be the perfect thing to use as inspiration for the vehicle's design. But considering how poorly executed version 1 was, I went and made V2 more GRIP like as much as possible and made it sleeker in the process. It's top part is inspired by a number of the IMSA GTP cars I looked at, while the underside was loosely based off the Ford GT40. I finished off with Neo-retro Grade 4 turbo fan wheels and tires and a livery inspired by the IKARAS ADs in the game.
