This is a fan made story where its a what if Gohan was born 3 years early and what if Future Gohan had a son.
This story also focuses on the dropped concept of passing the torch on to the next generation (hence the name) like how Akira Toriyama tried to do with Gohan but didn't let it proceed.
unlike Dragon Balls head canon Goku gives lead role to Gohan when eventually the story starts to focus on the son of Future Gohan keeping that goku bloodline in tact.
