No doubt about that.  Folks make fun of it now, but it was ...prophetic science fiction. If you really look at KITT's equipment, with the exception of it's A.I., Most of it's communications gear and computer set-up is standard equipment on most of today's police cars. The audio-video link with base, the computer hook-up and so on are standard today.
