Description
Hi everyone,Here's an image of a comparison of the skull of the modern human being (Homo Sapiens Sapiens), on the left, while the right shows a skull of what we may look like if we reached higher into evolution (Assuming we don't get all crazy with technology like in robotics or genetic manipulation, because that kind of evolution's overrated!) For a name of this new breed of human, I have chosen ''Homo Lex'' (Wisest man) If anyone can do a "re-construction" of this new species, I'd appreciate it.)
As you can see, the skull of the Homo Lex has a larger cranium than we do, allowing a greater brain capacity. Additionally, these humans have a largely reduced momentum (chin bone), a flatter facial profile and the mouth now houses one less set of teeth than modern man. This is because evolution slowly made greater limits in the amount of space in our mouths. (This is why some people need to get their wisdom teeth removed).
Since humans mainly live in artificially lighted conditions, the width of the eye sockets aren't as big. Also, due to the weight of the skull, the Lexs' neck vertebrae is thicker and broader to support the skull's weight, which also makes makes a risk of breaking it while lying down.
I hope you find my concept interesting and please comment!

Hey, Guyverman,
Loved that this futuristic view of man showed up in my research. I've been messing around with this concept for a bit and I'd love it if you could come up with one that represents true epigenetic evolution. For one, you're spot on with the smaller foreface and jaw. Our faces have been shrinking, without a doubt. And that shrinkage will continue so long as the mechanical forces we have been accustomed to are no longer necessary, like chewing. More and more people are taking supplements instead of eating and blending their food to take with a straw.
The ipso facto of that change is that the airway is gettng smaller too. The palate is also the floor of many sinuses. Without adequate air volume in the sinuses, we will all begin mouth breathing and holding our heads more forward to get more air. This bypasses many of the important structures and mechanics of the sinuses, so we'll be oxygen starved the brain will begin to shrink and have fewer folds. Our fat free diet, will also continue to starve our brains of the needed cholesterol that protects the synapses from one another, so we'll continue to get dumber and have smaller braines. So, smaller heads. Our bodies are getting bigger with padding, not stronger. Oh man I hate when I list out all the problems.
Anyway I'd love a version that has no mouth, just a slot for pills and a straw, that won't close and has a reformed jaw joint.
Chew your food people!

While I like how Homo Lex will have larger and more advanced brains, I don't like how they've got smaller and weaker jaws. That means that they won't be able to eat many of the things that we modern day Humans like to eat. In any future type of Human, I'd like to see us retain our present day jaws so we can keep enjoying the foods that we eat.

Ohh, nice idea. I actually have thought about making a story with the next stage of evolution for humans, but I didn't want to do something with genetics, robotics, or superheroes (I don't think they're bad, but I consider the first two more artificial/man-made rather than natural, and the other... I have doubts it would really happen naturally).
Anyway, this is a really cool idea and I would love to see where else you go with this.

Really? That sounds pretty kickass. Regarding Human evolution, I like to think that it'll be a mixture of genetics, robotics and natural evolution.
Anyhow, like you, I've got ideas as to what future Human evolution will be like. Rather then one single line, I see Present Day Humans branching off into numerous species and types of Human species with some looking Humanoid while others are wildly alien looking. I even made a species of Human in my head called Homo Einsteinus that're super intelligent but physically weaker then Humans and are super advanced tech wise. They're just one example of the future Human races I've made up in my head.
What did you have in mind with your story idea regarding the next stage of evolution for Humans?

Yeah, and thank you. I can see that happening as well--though personally I hope it won't be something along the lines of "we all transfer our minds to computers in order to escape death". Don't get me wrong, I understand why people would want to do that. But, there's two problems with that:
A. Whatever humans experience, with the possible exception of communication with one another in that computer state will ultimately be an illusion. Plus, it kind of makes the physical world look bad because of death despite how some supporters like to say that the physical world is good
B. Even though people might not die from things like old age or disease, all it takes is for something to damage the machines themselves to bring people close to death, if not outright dying. For all intents and purposes, a computer virus or even smashing the CPU could lead to the deaths of so many people.
I think it could show how humans can probably never fully escape death by themselves, but it might allow us to lessen it more. It certainly wouldn't allow people to gain Complete Immortality, though.
I can see that, especially since it has happened in the past. I could even see some different societies and views forming, like in the past. For instance: one thing I read on TV Tropes (I know, not the most reliable, but I'll trust it for now) is that when neanderthals were still around, they might have let women and children fight and hunt with them, in comparison to cro-magnums who had the men hunt and the women gather. Sadly, while the survival of the neanderthals might have led to things like gender egalitarianism being more accepted sooner and easier, some scientists believe that the more open society is what contributed to their extinction, as they were loosing breeders and the next generation. Of course, nowadays, they'd say it's alright, considering we're smarter and have an overpopulation problem.
That's the thing; I'm not sure. I'm not an expert on scientific evolution (I know more about the philosophical side, but that won't help in predicting what future humans would look like). Since I wanted to make it more "hard sci-fi", I wanted to see what are some actual predictions as to what latter humans would be like. I do think that future humans would be like yours, though; while some of them might be homo sapiens (I at least hope, since I always consider it a trajedy when any species or group of people go extinct), I could see some other ones. Perhaps it can even be affected in regards to space colonies, like maybe humans who are descended from people living on space stations have weaker bones but can also do things like float on water or maybe some humans becoming more hermaphroditic.
To be honest, a part of me would also like to see something like have humans get skin and hair colors currently impossible (true red, blue, green, violet, etc.) or have things like telepathy, but I don't know how likely that would be outside of things like either genetic technology or radioactive mutation.

I imagine that some Humans will transfer their core consciousnesses' to robot forms in the future but like you said, that won't help them fully escape death. Even having a "Matrix" scenario where a bunch of people live in a virtual world with their minds in a supercomputer won't help as they can't escape death there either as something could happen to the supercomputer.
I've heard the same thing, that Neanderthals allowed women and children to hunt animals alongside the men. I can see why that would've contributed to their extinction but it makes me happy that they did that as it shows that they believed in gender equality or would've embraced it fully much sooner then Homo Sapiens Sapiens /modern Humans/ did.
About the Einsteinians, they've got artificial gravity technology so they don't need to worry about the effects of zero gravity. There WOULD be Human descendants who'd be adapted to living in zero gravity environments however. I can also imagine a hermaphroditic Human race as well as ones with different skin and hair colours currently impossible. I'm also predicting that they'll be races of Humans with telepathy, the one I came up with is named Homo Kreskin and they've got telepathy and telekinesis. There's a wide variety of different possibilities for Human descendants to be like and like I said earlier, they'll undoubtedly be numerous Human descended races and at least some of them will revere us modern day Humans as being their forefathers.
Quick note, another Human race that I've concocted is Homo Atlas, they've got thicker stronger bones and muscles, stronger jaws and are more heavily built then modern day Humans. They're adapted for tough environments and tend to be warlike and aggressive as they're not anymore intelligent then modern day Humans but there's a number of different branches of them so what they do varies with the branch/tribe. Basically, they're tall Neanderthals with futuristic technology.

Yeah, I can imagine some humans. I just hope that not everyone will try to do it. Then again, I doubt all humans will want to become basically living machines. But yeah, just by ourselves we can't fully defeat death; we can do things that could maybe prevent it greatly (heck, maybe even reverse it), but getting rid of it completely? I have high doubts we could ever do that, even if we figured out ways to stop things like our sun from going out or even preventing the death of the universe. The main reason being that even if we did those things, we'd still have to maintain whatever it was that kept the "natural order" from taking over again.
It's a bittersweet thing; I mean, their culture is what contributed to their extinction, but along with this it shows that they might have had some beliefs that, nowadays, we would have praised them for it. Maybe perhaps the Neanderthals of Edenia could have a more egalitarian society since they survived. Like maybe they think that one should be judged on skills alone rather than on things like age, gender, or appearance. Of course, that could have problems in that what each tribe/group/society says is "good" or "bad" skills will differ, and they might look down on those who can't or won't comform to their values and beliefs.
Okay, I see. That's good to hear! And I'm glad you think my theories would be possible. I actually think I've figured out what my story would be; like X-Men, the main conflict would be between homo sapiens and the other forms of humans, due to the fact that homo sapiens are slowly dying out and there's a risk that they'll go extinct. Now, unlike X-Men, this is just due to the fact that some of the genes the "new humans" have are more dominant or that there are other factors. Anyway, the main conflict is that various people in power are trying to find a way to help get homo sapien populations up so that they won't be in danger of going extinct. Some of these include breeding programs, putting homo sapiens onto "reservations" so that they'll spend more time interacting with their own kind, making it so that homo sapiens and new humans can't interbred (at least as easily), and so forth. The main heroine would be someone who wants to find a solution that would bring the two groups together and work for both, while the villain would be a coldly rational, maybe even fundamentalistic, Social Darwinist who's basic idea is "the subspecies of humans that led to homo sapiens died off, and no one cared. So why should we care about them dying off?" Problems arise when some more apathetic new humans start getting seen by homo sapiens as people who are okay with them going extinct and violence begins to break out. So, it's up to the heroes to find a way to restore peace and help both groups.
Technically speaking, while it might be a bit like X-Men, it would be more like what would happen if mutants starting becoming the dominant group and humans were at risk of going extinct. Plus, it might deal with some other things, such as how "evolution" and "change" doesn't have to always be "out with the old, in with the new". It can be things like adapting and modifying yourself to survive in a new environment, be it physical, mental, social, or any other form.
Oh, nice. To be honest, I can see them as either being great rivals with the Einsteinians... or the two work together, with the Einsteinians being the "brains" and the Atlasians the "brawns" of their societies. Kind of like counterparts.

Nothing sort of Humanity evolving to the level of the Christian God will allow us to defeat death completely. That's why individual Humans and other creatures are out to breed to produce offspring so they can continue to exist through their genes.
Yeah, it's sad that the thing that made Neanderthals look good by our standards is what contributed to their extinction. The ones on Edenia though actually DO have a society where both genders are equal and ones status is based on their skills, not gender, age or looks. They've also passed these ideals onto the Orcs and Ogres in Siberia that they live with. Different tribes of "savages" /as Neanderthals, Orcs and Ogres live in mixed tribes and kingdoms/ however DO have different ideas of what skills are most important. Some are still hunter/gatherers, others are miners while others are farmers but the tribes/kingdoms tend to fight each other mostly for territory and resources and in times of peace, trade with each other. Losing tribes and kingdoms in wars end up being absorbed into the victorious tribes and victims rather then wiped out as people and their skills are regarded as important no matter what they may be.
The Siberian tribes have trouble grasping how other societies outside of Siberia can divide up gender and age groups into different roles and not allow for example, women to hunt alongside the men. Tens of thousands of years earlier when they met the ancestors of modern Edenian Humans, the Neanderthals regarded them as restrictive and oppressive but interaction between the Edenian Humans never forgot how the Neanderthals had gender/age equality and when their societies became more advanced and more populated, they started to adapt the ideas of gender/age equality for themselves but some male Humans are still uneasy about having women and children be in dangerous roles meant traditionally for men. However, women and children can be found in a variety of jobs we'd normally associate with only men having in Medieval times such as being soldiers, politicians, etc.
Your story idea about Homo Sapiens and new types of Humans sounds good. The different types of Human races that I've come up with have different opinions about Homo Sapiens Sapiens. Some want them to die out while others are indifferent while others want to save them from extinction. The Einsteinians and Atlasians for example tend to range from indifference to wanting to save them from extinction. Of course, Homo Sapiens Sapiens in the universe I made in my head is still fairly numerous and control Earth and a bunch of other planets but they aren't the main Human race anymore /think of how Great Britain is today, still significant in the world but not THE main power anymore/. There's "purist" Humans around who live and act like snobbish nobles on Earthlike planets and regard the new types of Humans as mutants and freaks but despite their economic power, are few in number and are hated by even the other Homo Sapiens Sapiens peoples. The Einsteinians and Atlasians see the "purist" Humans as a joke and don't take them seriously but don't like how the "purists" try to boss around the other Homo Sapiens Sapiens.
The Einsteinians and Atlasians have a complex relationship. Some Einsteinians regard the Atlasians as savages and evolutionary throwbacks while some Atlasians regard the Einsteinians as weaklings and degenerates. Some of both races however work together and help each other out. There's even been marriages between members of the two Human races but to produce offspring, they have to engage in genetic manipulation and other complex processes since the Einsteinians and Atlasians have evolved to be two different species of Humans.
I've created a wide variety of other Human descended races that have been inspired from various source material. Some are cyborgs, some are robots, some are aquatic, some can fly, some are communal, some even have hive minds, etc. I even created a type of Human that's made up of exclusively women but they breed by having the egg cell of one female emigrate to the uterus of their female sexual partner and merge with a waiting egg cell native to the uterus of their female sexual partner. In other words, the egg cells have through various processes, been given the instinctive abilities of male sperm to travel to their sexual partner's uterus. It's all quite complex and well beyond anything modern Human science can do. Luckily, this species of female only type of Human is mostly benign and has good relations with many of the Human and alien races in existence but are quite able to defend themselves if need be.

Exactly! As for procreation; obviously, there are other reasons as to why creatures produce offspring (at least for humans), but within purely scientific terms it's to prevent the extinction of a species. Granted... I will also admit I have doubts, as well as hopes, that if humanity, by itself at least, produced some form of immortality (complete or not), procreation would no longer exist. I know there's population control to worry about, but it's still a big universe out there, with a lot of space. And by the time we get into Singularity-based reality, I'd guess that Space Colonization would be possible as well. People might not necessarily need to do it as much, but I don't think it would be as simple as "everyone would be fine with never having kids again since they get to live forever".
It is. And unfortunately... I'm sure there are some people who'd argue that that is the reason gender equality shouldn't happen... which is (at least probably) more of an Appeal to Nature situation than anything else. Regardless, that is great to hear that the Edenian Neanderthals are still alive and well, and have helped their Orc and Ogre neighbors. It does make a lot of sense that losing tribes would also be absorbed by the victories ones, and it's nice to hear that for the "warrior races" they can still show mercy. Out of curiosity, though; do the losing tribes get to keep their culture, or are they expected to assimilate into the dominant tribe's culture?
Ohh, nice! That is a really interesting development, and I can see why the Siberian tribes would feel that ancient Edenian humans had a repressive culture--makes me wonder how they'd feel about some of our cultures.
Thanks very much! To be honest, after talking about this, I actually think I want to go ahead and write this; though for now, I'm going to keep it on the backburner and maybe just write some notes. But, if I can, I might try to officially publish it rather than just post about it on DA. After all, not only do I think it could make a good story but one thing I'd love to do with it is deconstruct some of the concepts and ideas that I've seen some "Futurist" and Sci-Fi stories take, such as the idea that we humans can't learn from environmental problems or that as time moves on, people automatically become more and more skeptical of the concept of God. For instance; instead of the Earth being an irreparable garbage heap, I might reveal there were environmental problems but people are starting to help change that. Another thing is that the main protagonist for this story will probably be a religious non-reductive physicalist, meaning she does believe in a higher power but does not believe in concepts like the afterlife, the doctrine of the Immortality of the Soul, or a spiritual plane where God or the gods reside. However, depending on what she turns out to be, she might believe in the doctrine of the Resurrection of the Body instead. Of course, whether she's right or not is not answered, since that's just a part of her character.
Anyway, I can see why some different human subspecies would have different thoughts--though I hope that's more of a nurture rather than nature concept. The idea of Homo Sapiens Sapiens being a major power, but no longer the main power, is a very good idea and I can see that as being a potential possibility of our world. The attitudes of the purists do make a lot of sense, though I also feel that it is to be expected--after all, I remember that the villain of one new Doctor Who episode was a "bitchy trampoline" who thought that since she was the last "pure" human, the other types of humans were "mongrels".
I can see that. After all, it's just like real life, in that different groups of people have different general thoughts. So, for all intents and purposes, some Einsteinians and Atlasians would have great conflict, others would work together entirely, and some would be in the middle.
Ohh, that's so cool! I'd love to hear more about these guys, at least to get some ideas for myself. Though, I'm kind of confused; how can some new species of humans be "communal"? I mean, technically speaking, humans are social creatures, so even if certain cultures support, or even worship, individualistic ideas, we still at are nature need companionship with other humans to be happy and healthy. I can see something like the "communal humans" being more like humans who have telepathic links, though. Also, the all-female human women sound really cool! But I want to know; can they reproduce the "normal" way, like how humans have done it, or are they only able to reproduce through the process you described?
Speaking of different types of humans, mind if I mention some of the ones I've come up with? At least for my story?

Even if Humans were immortal, quite a few people would still want to see new life produced and have kids as they'd want to be parents, I know that I would.
Anyone who uses the whole "We musn't have gender equality to keep our women alive to reproduce and keep Humanity going" is just desperate to keep women subservient to men in my opinion which is stupid.
Anyhow, the whole "sparing losing tribes and kingdoms by absorbing them" is a mixture of mercy and pragmatism. Mercy because the Neanderthals and others believe life to be sacred and only kill when they have no choice /like when hunting or competing for resources to survive/ and pragmatism because they need people to occupy newly won territories and want to increase their tribes' numbers as there's strength in numbers. The losing tribes cultural beliefs are sometimes lost but sometimes get made part of the dominant tribe's culture, it depends on the nature of the dominant tribe.
Speaking of the Edenian Neanderthals, they follow a type of religion similar to what Native Americans follow, worship of spirits and the Earth mother/nature so they'd get along well with the Indians and other cultures that're into paganism.
The Siberian tribes would feel that Western culture is super complex and confusing. They'd also feel that we should have more respect for the environment but would appreciate that more and more of us are trying to change. Also, they'd respect how we're pushing towards gender equality but would think that people like Trump are morons for trying to reverse decades of social progress and for picking on minorities. They'd wonder why we don't depose him as that's how they deal with bad leaders in their culture. To add to this, because Edenian Humans have had gender equality for thousands of years thanks to their inadvertent influence, they'd wonder what took us so long to achieve it. As for other Human cultures like the Muslims, their culture would remind them of the Goldarabs' religion as they've traded with Goldarab merchants who've introduced them to it. However, the Siberian tribes would hate ISIS and see them as monsters and would kill them on sight.
By the way, I recently watched a show about the Neanderthals and why they went extinct. It seems that at one point, a supervolcano in Italy exploded and dumped ash on a large majority of their territory. This combined with dust blocking out the sun caused most of the Neanderthals and many of our own ancestors to starve to death. While the Neanderthals in Spain and Western France hung on being outside the dead zone, their numbers dwindled down to nothing over the course of 15,000 years thanks partly to pressure from our ancestors who would've greatly outnumbered the remaining Neanderthals. Our ancestors only survived because our own territorial range was much more extensive so Humans /along with animals/ from unaffected areas simply migrated to the former dead zone after the effects of the eruption passed.
In Edenia, I was thinking that the eruption still happened but wasn't as strong so the Neanderthals' numbers were simply reduced enough in the affected zone to force them to migrate into what's Russia in real life and later, into Siberia as they faced overwhelming numbers of Humans outcompeting them.
I've noticed those themes too in sci-fi all too frequently where Humanity turns completely atheist and that Earth becomes a burnt out garbage filled wasteland because Humanity couldn't or wouldn't become environmentally friendlier as it was too much of a hassle for their short term interests. These ideas are stupid and I too envision a mixed future where Humanity encounters environmental problems and some animals that're alive today go extinct like the Panda bear /which sucks but their breeding habits and eating mostly bamboo work against them plus there's only a few thousand left in existence/ but Humanity adapts and the Earth recovers over time. Humanity even creates new species of animals like in Jurassic World only with the DNA of living animals to try and fill gaps left from species that have died out.
About Humanity, they at one time were a galactic superpower but over time as the different Humans throughout its territory went in different directions evolutionary wise, Humanity's unified "empire" drifted apart. This combined with varying interactions with alien races caused Humanity to splinter off into various smaller star nations. The original Human civilization still retained the core territory of its old empire of course which is why it's still quite strong. Ironically, I got the idea of Human purists partly FROM the episode involving "the bitchy trampoline" Cassandra O'Brien. I couldn't stand her and how she acted like other types of Humans were mutants. They weren't freaks, they simply moved on and evolved into higher forms. If the Einsteinians and Atlases met her, they'd scoff at her.
I also got the idea of purist Humans from different Anime series where original Humans are afraid of genetically enhanced Humans and regard them as freaks, mutants, monsters, etc. Unlike those series though, by the time Humanity's spread throughout the cosmos, the purist faction of Humans aren't much of a threat to Human descended races like the Einsteinians and Atlases. The Purists are a threat only to the other original Humans and most of the latter hate the Purists and are constantly battling both politically and militarily against the Purists. The Purists themselves are in decline politically sort of like how the Religious Right in the U.S is losing its power. Eventually, a segment of Purists stops being jerks to non-Purists and breaks off from the still racist Purists before evolving into new species of Humans while the still racist Purist faction dwindles down to nothing in the end with the last Purist being Cassandra O'Brien strangely enough who ends up as a bitchy trampoline kept alive by a mobile life support machine.
Yeah, the different species of Humans and different groups from each species have a wide variety of views and thoughts on how to live. It's all quite complicated and well beyond any living Human in the present day's ability to have anymore then a basic grasp of. It'd be like expecting a caveman to understand fully the complexities of present day society.
Well, there's one Human race that uses cybernetic enhancements to enhance their natural abilities and see it as a sacred union of technology and nature. Some prefer to have their implants be visible while others prefer to have them blend in with their organic parts.
There's another Human race whose ancestors transferred their souls to robotic forms but their robot forms are Humanlike with their body parts being synthetic. They're still Humanlike in mindset and emotions, they're just super smart and have super abilities of various types.
Another Human race has ancestors who modified their offspring to live underwater and look like a cross between a Human and a dolphin. They tend to be uneasy about interacting with other races despite being spacefaring as they've got bad experiences with outsiders.
About the Communal Humans, I mean ones who aren't as individualistic, live communally and have caste systems like the Geonosians from Star Wars. Some races of Communal Humans are telepathic though.
By the way, there's also a type of Human that's evolved to look like the Grey Aliens of sci-fi lore and are super smart, telepathic and can use psychic attacks when threatened.
The all female race of Humans can still reproduce with men from a few other races of Humans such as Original Humans but the race of Humans in question has to be fairly similar in terms of genes and DNA to the all-female race of Humans so they couldn't interbreed with the races of Humans who're too genetically different from them like Humans who can live in the void of space unprotected by space suits.
Sure, I'd love to hear about the Human races that you've come up with for your story.

Hmmm....Personally i don't think that the cranium would get much bigger, cuz bigger isn't necessary better - Just look at the whales, they got HUGE brains....Yet they are dumb.
I think that we will find a way to have better brain without enlarging them. Through genetical modification or the more the less invasive and lower risk methode of human breeding (Choosing the best eggs and sperms and put it into someone to carry the child....It's a slow but safe process)
Or perhhaps by implementation of nanotrites advanced enough to be inherited through childbirth (At one point, mitochondria entered the cell and gave more energy, allowing more advanced life-forms....I think that the same thing may happen artificially, though there's a long way to go until we humans can create something like that and implement it into the cells and making it so that it also joins in on the mytosis and clones itself with the cell...And perhaps even longer until we know what we are doing and can do it without any disasterous risk.

Neither is it our fault as human that we are small, light and fast-moving compared to the whales.
I don't think that the whales are dumb, but if you compare brain sizes then the whale is pretty dumb for it's brain size(I was trying to say that intelligence isn't about size, but efficiency...I guess i should have made a more elaborate comment.)...Yes, i know that most of their brain is used to controll their huge bodies. But the point is that having an immense brain doesn't automatically make you smarter. Evolving larger brains isn't necessary for us to get smarter as a species, maybe we might get a little bit bigger in terms of brain-size - But there is a limit to it. It would be more ideal to have better and more efficient brains rather than larger brains, small changes that have a huge impact on intelligence seem better.

Whales are among the smartest animals... But their neuron density is much lower than ours meaning that even though their brains have a superior ammount of memory than humans, their brain is also much slower than ours... Actually even elephants have more memory than humans but their brains are also very slow compared to ours... Also it was shown that Whales and Dolphins seem to have similar levels of intelligence... But the Dolphin has a smaller and faster brain with a higher neuron density... Some people actually think the Dolphins match our mental capabilities but their bodies are the problem... They don't have hands and resources to make things and their vision is not the best either... It turns out we have both the brains and the body to make technology...

It's a nice attempt, but I think that any future developments in human physiology (discounting technology and genetic engineering) will be governed mostly by chance and be practically unpredictable. Humans will only develop smaller eyes if [A] smaller eyes improve their odds of producing offspring, or [B] a mutation for smaller eyes develops naturally and genetic drift causes it to overtake normally-sized eyes due to chance alone. In the case of [B], larger eyes could come into existence and dominance just as easily.
If humans colonize the stars, we will probably speciate into many different varieties (as we will be genetically isolated). However, I think that genetic engineering will probably allow us to change much more quickly and in more directional paths than natural selection ever would allow us to in the future (unless survival circumstances return due to disasters).

Brain size has no direct link to brain capacity or intelligence, this is illogical and unscientific.

Actually brain size does have a link to intelligence. One way that we measure brain size in relation to intelligence is by calculating brain capacity (cc), which is a measure of the volume of the cranium relative to surface area. In general, we DO see a correlation between increasing brain capacity and increasing "cleverness." For example, the brain capacity of a chimpanzee is between 300 and 500 cc. Homo erectus, a primitive hominid, had a brain capacity of 1,000 cc, and modern humans, Homo sapiens, have the highest brain capacity among extant species, anywhere from 1,100 to 1,900 cc. (As an interesting side note, there is a negative correlation between brain capacity and fertility in humans. In other words, the smarter you are, the less fertile you are.) However, you are correct in that brain capacity is not the only factor that needs to be considered when discussing intelligence. IPC, or information processing capacity, measures the conduction velocity of cortical neurons and is not dependent on brain size. Other important factors include cortical neuron density, and the encephalization quotient.

Not really. We are cooped up in our computers, learning about tech and such. Look at the army, they use drones now and targeted rocket strikes. Evenually, are heads wiill get larger, but, this also means our bodies will get fat and our limbs will become short, since all this techtime will prevent us from getting outside.

I remember reading from somewhere long ago that if the human brain expands any larger that the human female will be forced to walk on fours, because the birth canal for such a large head will be too narrow if a biped.

We will also have stumpy bodies and tiny legs, because we will be integrated seamlessly with advanced robotics. The visual cortex will not grow (like your image suggests) because we won't need it, though our reasoning neo-cortex will be a little bigger. Global brain size will grow in "alpha" humans for integration of the faculties, for leadership. The rest of us will just be technician types - more specialized and efficient, but actually dumber. (progressing from what our education system does today, basically).
We will be strictly vegetarian with a small digestive tract (because we will heavily pre-process all foods). We will have a concentration of neural nerve endings near the back of our skulls for efficient interface of brain-to-machine. We will only have to close our eyes to be online (in the cloud).
Woman will give birth relatively prematurely (like we do already) to cater for a bigger head.
Here is where we are really going: [link]

Or our brains simply have to evolve to be better, not bigger...There's been a person whose IQ was about 280 (probably more, but they never managed to fully measure his intelligence). His brain wasn't bigger, just better.
And i think that we can go much further than that in terms of intelligence with our current brain size.
Women actually have smaller brains than men.
Does that make them dumber?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Theirs may be smaller but in return they have better connections betwen neurons. Here's another argument, Enstein's brain size was below average, yet he came up with the whole fucking theory of relativity and everything.
(I'm not angry, i just used caps lock there cuz it seem apropriate.)
