Some work-in-progress for an illustration for a story for the Kethrios project ( [link] ) that I'm working on. Ray Harryhausen was the master of stop-motion special effects back in the day. He animated the flying saucers in Earth vs. the Flying Saucers, and also did the great effects in Jason and the Argonauts (remember the skeleton warriors that rose up from the teeth scattered about upon the ground?) His effects may not be as life-like as contemporary digital effects, but they were more full of life, or of character or personality.

The steamship looks like something from 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. Is this an alternate history story by chance?
