drew this, and I begged to color it.Yes, I begged to color a picture of the one robot with whom I have the longest-standing beef.
Even my Art Night peeps were shocked.
Actual Transcript of "Grapple's" comment when she saw what I was getting out to color: "You're coloring RODDY?!? I can't wait to hear the things you two say to each other while you're working!"
At which point, I realized two salient points: 1.) Everyone has listened to me gripe about Hot Rod the upstart incompetent Prime-wannabe. 2.) I talk to robot-people (and they talk back to me) enough that my Art Night peeps have standing tickets to the weekly show.
I do utterly love this pic, though. So THANK YOU to Themanlylobster for letting me color it! It's goshdarn magical. Magic enough to make me get along with Roddy.
I'm still working on this new way of coloring metal and making it all reflecty, and I'm NOT good (or even competent) at it yet. So thanks everyone for your patience. I'm trying to just work and not get too hung-up on any one thing. Or hate myself too long for my many artistic imperfections. I'll keep working and hope to improve!

I have no idea how blue highlights in yellow (gold) metal Work, and yet they Do Indeed Work
Not gonna lie I was equal parts impressed / horrified when I saw his ride, which is of course called the Rod Pod and looks exactly like his own smug face

I did RESEARCH! And I still fought that undercoating color till I finally had to retreat in shame from the battlefield.
That color-scheme alone is reason enough why he should NEVER be allowed to Prime.

The blue did help sink him into the environment, though. Nice thing about markers -- you can just color over stuff with another color, and it somehow works.

Many years ago TEH MULL3T swaggered into a sewing store, and ordered the meatbag at the desk YOU THERE, I REQUIRE A COLOUR OF THIS "FABRIC" SUBSTANCE FOR A COSTUME. IT IS A VERY SPECIFIC SHADE OF NOT-QUITE-YELLOW-NOT-ORANGE-EITHER, AND YOU SHALL INCUR MY GREAT WRATH IF YOU GET IT WRONG
The tiny flesh slug asked if I had anything to match the colour to, like a cushion or a piece of older fabric? I carefully placed Animated Voyager Sunstorm on the desk and repeated GREAT WRATH
Leaning in closer to admire that not-quite-yellow-not-orange-either the puny meatbag responded
"Oh yes that's a really bright colour. Isn't she a happy little thing, look at her smiley face!"
