Description Abyssal Inferno

decrepit masks to
cover the desolate faces
each face equal to
their inner destruction

I have no mask
as I wake from a dreary sleep
glancing at the sullen
faces around me

The plane I woke upon
holds yet another permanent sleep
blinking for only a second
another crashes into the side

faces change
showing terror upon their eyes
as people launch into
a darkened abyss

no screams, no change
people evaporating
I cannot change
frozen in the darkness of death

grabbing a mask of pure O2
I inhale too deeply
smiling as we plummet
towards the brightened hell

no explosion, only fire
fierce as a dozen blazing furies
I walk from the hellish inferno
laughing hysterically

I could be reading into it too much, but from the first part, it seems that not having a mask could mean not hiding the destruction or what the person is capable of, being outwardly/clearly desolate or something. And I think there could also be importance with the different planes, but this is all just supposition.

Interesting piece, I think the ending is really intriguing.
