Samus Aran redesign 1.0REDESIGN 2.0 here!
[link] The redesign is pretty drastic and I'm not sure how recognizable it is to the original. I tried keeping certain characteristics familiar. That said, I had fun drawing this anyways.
Some ideas:
-Slimmed down more feminine armor.
-Chozo styled armor: notice the bird-like helmet. I tried to retain that idea throughout.
-Hair streaming from the back of the helmet. I toyed with this idea and the potential of the hair transforming to a pair of "bird" wings. It may or may not be Samus's real hair underneath.
Much of this stems from my recent enthusiasm for all things Metroid: Metroid Other M updates sound pretty sweet, and I finally beat Metroid Prime I (o_0).

This looks very Mega Man ZX. I think this slightly-edgier design really works.
My only gripe is the boobplates. You DO know those will guide any attack directly into her heart, right? I mean, her original suit was good and realistic, why change that? >_>

The design is cool. I just wish she could also have this ability to convert both arms to dual-wield both beam cannons, to also make them normal, you know?

Ooh, that sounds like a fun idea. I'm so used to Samus's singular arm cannon as a design motif, but with her Chozo technology and whatnot, there's nothing stopping her from dual wielding two arm cannons. Good point.

This design is meant to be sleeker, but the original Samus is no slouch in the speed department either. *Looks at her Speed Booster power up.

Well, fucknuggets! This looks pretty damn awesome! This would be incredible to see as an alternate costume for a next-gen Metroid game. Kinda reminds me of Megaman X for some reason. Wonderful concept!

I LOVE this redesign...but there is just one problem with it. Most people do this, so I'm not blaming you!
"Boob Cups" (where the boobs are in individual metal cups) in armour is actually a bad idea, because of how hits the them redirect force. (I don't really want to yammer on about it unless you want me too. 
Seriously I LOVE this....would you consider doing some sort of wallpaper version? (As in, a version with a background or something, that would look good as a wallpaper?)

Thanks for the thoughtful comments! The "boob armor" criticism was mentioned several times before after I drew this, and I took those critiques to mind when I revised this design.

I'm not sure I have plans to do a wallpaper version of this design, but I'll keep your suggestion in mind. If you're interested, my Metroid gallery does have new Samus redesigns based off other game crossovers and the such. She just happens to be really fun to draw.

Woooow. That looks awesome. The hair (I think it is) seems a touch excessive though. Looks great though

I think I happened to like armored hair (blame my Mega Man Zero fan-background if you will, haha) but I did try to make it practical here: the "hair" could assemble to futuristic wings to give flight to the wingless Chozo.
