This was a commission I did for a woman named Bri, she's friends with Bill Gibson who's Christine's (the movie car) owner who I know through the CCC club. He referred her to me which was a bit of an honor. Bri asked me to draw a 'Cars' style caricature of her husband's beautiful gold 69' Charger 'the other woman' as a present for his birthday. All in all it was a pleasant experience and Bri was a very comfortable person to work for. From what I hear this'll end up being framed and hung in the garage so that makes me feel good to know.
This was a great taste of what it'll be like if I go ahead with the 'car caricatures' side business I wanna start.I'd never drawn a Charger before, it was definitely fun to do and a nice challenge.. the car really has some interesting curves especially around the rear 'hips' area. I personally would have loved to have been tasked with drawing her with the eyes in the headlights, for those who don't know the headlights on these cars flip open in the front black part of the grille. I think functionally with the flipping headlights an interesting expression and eye-lid mechanic could have been made up. I've never really been a fan of the Pixar style car-eyes to begin with..
I really enjoyed finding a way of turning her chrome bumper into big sexy lips, with the bumper bars there in the middle it was a bit of a challenge!

No that's not it, it's just a lot of work drawing something of that caliber.

Well, for me it's pretty easy. I can draw Cars-style cars in trn minutes or less. If it's too much work, keep it simple. Try not to add too many details.

I mean, I know some just draw for fun and that's fine! But I'm kind of picky about my work and wont even draw something unless I can make it as good as I can.. I can't halfass my art unfortunately.
Oh. Sorry 'bout that. I draw my art like that all the time, so it sort of looks crappy by comparison

All I had to go on from his wife was to make her 'seductive' and that she was 'definitely the other woman.' So I guess I tried to make her look playful like she's trying to get his attention away from his wife. XD

Nice! The shading is terrific, very warm-looking. Older car models with chrome bumpers are a challenge. Some in the Pixar movies have their mouth on the actual bumper and others have it between the mouth and grille, and sometimes they cheat a little, like on the Pacers, and widen the space between grille and bumper to leave more room for expressions. You made a good choice here and made her look feminine and seductive, if I dare say so myself.

I have the RL car to thank for the shading tips..providing itself as reference. ^^ The gold color was that kinda neon type, so when it reflected it was real bright yellow!
I think now that you mentioned it I originally planned to have her bottom lip by orange..since it'd be formed from her body not the bumper.. but it probably looks better them both being chrome.
