Tony Vice - "When the day is through, I'll be here with you, into the sunset we will ride."It's just after the Christmas season again at the junkyard. Piles upon piles of used Christmas materials are pouring in and piling up. With a brisk wind a mistletoe is lifted from a nearby trash-bin and snags itself on the ruined Limo's long-horns. The two battered vehicles take notice and are instantly brought back to the early days of their relationship and with effort form smiles at each other through their mangled bumpers. No matter what happens, they're ready, as long as they're together.

Artist description readers will know that this was my rejected first idea for my Christmas drawing. I can't remember the reason why I didn't go with this idea as it is more emotional.. but I'll say now.. it IS a bit depressing for Christmas..
I finally decided to draw this because of the positive reaction to the idea, in big thanks for my good buddy WC.
Also I myself was curious if it'd look as touching on paper as did in my head. Admittedly it doesn't.. but not bad. : /I was as faithful to their ruined designs in the movie as I could be, the only thing I changed a bit was the Wedding Limo's longhorns. In the movie it looks like the two horns are of different type.. a straight and a twirly type. As far as I know, a single bovine would naturally only have one type or the other. So instead, to coincide with the left-side damage she has.. I made it that the horn was splintered and bent.
I didn't see this as quite important enough to need to be colored, but I did do a simple coloration for anyone who really needs color: [link]

I love the movie Maximum Overdrive.. even if it didn't make the most with the concept. ^^ I would have liked to see more glimpses of the world at large going through it.. and with more things then just Semi trucks.

oh i know. i love it too. my sister though has a horafying theroy between that and cars, that perhaps cars is the sequil to maximum overdrive where the machines have won and now live and thrive where humans once were. because you see human things like the eifel tower and such and you'll hear human singers on the radio but they're on oldies stations and everything...kinda creepy if you think about it.

Still doesn't explain how all the buildings are car accessible, or how the ecosystem has changed (insects are tiny cars, mountains are shaped like cars.)

Ah i see, yea this is true i often wondered that myself how all that stuff changed. i mean i guess some sort of nuclear warfare reactioon could explain the insects but as for the mountans that would still be tricky so yea i guess the theroy would be invalid when you really think about it

About the different horn shapes, I always assumed they came from two different bulls. And sometimes animals assymetrical horn curves too. Still and all, cute pic.

Sure same way some people have assymetrical facial features, like one ear slightly higher than the other or slightly smaller.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. That said, if I may make a slight nit-pick, the car the limo is stacked on top of when she gets picked up by the magnet in the movie is a different car than the hearse, which is quite odd, since the magnet appears to pick them up from the exact same spot.

I'm indeed aware of that, though I attribute that to short-sightedness and or error in animation.. which is rampant during the junkyard scenes and the scene with these two characters in particular. Also since you can only see the original car she was on top of for a split second if you don't pause I don't really count it..
