When angry or agitated, speaks less, becomes more blunt and harsh. Voice tends to start in her throat, like a rumble of far away thunder.
Mannerisms - Body: Serpentine. Long legs that rise and fall with grace and care. Less of a walk and more of a prowl. Her head is generally low, but not through submission. Will lift her head to full height in conversation to assert her dominance. Holds herself confidently, fearlessly, recklessly. Agile. Fast. Can leap surprisingly far. Tail tends to raise and sway dangerously like the head of a snake.

PERSONALITY

Intellectual & Pragmatic
Ranna's shoulder may be small, but upon them sits a fantastically wired brain. She is a deep thinker, a problem solver: she finds the simplest means to an end quite quickly and isn't afraid to act on what she finds. She does not waste time and effort believing in luck or karma, she believes that the only true solutions are those you can grasp with both paws.

Faithless & Bitter
Ranna is, at best, repulsed by those who swear fealty to a deity, and will openly mock them. She has seen that the level of devotion these so-called Gods require yields almost no reward, and she does not see the point in pursuing a thing that will not ultimately bring you fortune. She extends the same feelings to those wolves who consider themselves loyal to a pack or it's leader, having seen herself how quickly a trusted wolf can turn.

Self Sufficient & Cold
Having left her birth pack as a very young child, Ranna has grown into a very capable young wolf who knows how to take care of herself. She is an apt huntress and a skilled fighter, and although a stronger wolf could easily overpower her, they would not so easily outwit her. Having survived the horrible systematic massacre of her young siblings, and come out stronger, she holds very little sympathy for other wolves. She believes too many have had simple, cushioned lives and their whimpers about their worries and pains fall on deaf ears. Ranna would watch another wolf take their dying breaths waiting for them to have some strength and save themselves, rather than extend her own paw to help.

Manipulative & Devious
You cannot fool blood, and although Ranna would deny any similarities to the hilt, she has much of Alar in her. Like her father, she can read others easily and can often manipulate them to her will through gentle suggestion and lies. She is, however, much more rash than her father, and can lose her temper easily if things do not go her way. Wolves would do well not to fall upon her bad side; in the knowledge that she would probably lose a fight of tooth and claw, she favours a more cowardly way of killing.

TRIVIA

Ranna hunts birds for sport; any birds really, but she is particularly excited by the killing of a raven. It brings her one step closer to the downfall of Alar and his wretched flock. On occasion she doesn't even kill them, just breaks their wings and leaves them to die. In the back of her mind she hopes it sends the desired message to the coward she calls a father.

Ranna is the sleep bringer; to kill her desired victim, she finds a way to have them ingest a special mixture of her own creation which draws them into a deep sleep. She then delivers the killing bite to the throat while they are unable to fight back, and then slips away before the body is discovered.

Ranna does not like puppies, as they remind her of her brothers.

For the same reason, Ranna does not particularly like the sight of blood. She generally does not hunt large game because of this, although she is able to.

Quite peculiar for wolves, Ranna is adept at climbing trees! She can often be found hiding in the lower hanging branches of strong trees, and will sometimes drop out of them on top of unsuspecting prey.

Because of the betrayals of her father, Ranna has no desire to find a mate. Ever.

PRE-GROUP HISTORY

Ranna does not remember much, if anything, of the pack she was born in, and it is perhaps for this reason that she feels no need to be part of a pack now. She does not have familial bonds to look back upon; her life in that pack was cut short due to circumstances beyond her control.

Her mother's name was Lilja - she was a Beta in her own right even before she took Alar as a mate. Theirs was more a pairing of convenience than love, although Lilja did not know it at the time, and looked upon Alar kindly and with care. A litter of three was born from their union, two boys and one girl: Ranna. She remembers that one of her brothers was cowardly, and the other was unkind, but of every wolf she has ever met she thinks of her brothers with the most fondness.

At the time she did not understand it, but trouble began to brew. When she was barely a couple of months old, the Alpha of the pack grew restless. He believed that Alar - who had developed something of a sour reputation across these parts - was plotting to overthrow him and steal his throne. For the first time none of Alar's wicked words could free him from the curse that was set upon him, and the Alpha ordered his execution. Caring only for himself, Alar fled.

Scouts and Warriors returned to the pack with the distressing news that Alar had escaped. In a rage the Alpha issued another chilling order, one that made his loyal followers shiver: if they could not dispatch Alar, at least dispatch his bloodline. Kill the mate, and kill the pups. A friend of Lilja's warned her of the order and heart pounding, she raced to her den, only to be greeted by a macabre scene and the copper scent of blood. She only had moments to grieve. She knew they would come for her next. They would already be looking.

But suddenly, miraculously, out of the tall autumn grasses Ranna came plodding. She had been playing with her brothers in the den when she'd heard a raven crow loudly in the sky; her father had shown her the birds before. She knew he was friends with them. But this raven's call was not a happy one, and so, in curiosity she had slipped out of the den, nose to the sky, following the bird. Following her father's flock had saved her life.

She only caught one horrible glimpse of the slaughter before her mother grabbed her by the scruff of the neck and raced far away from that place, but it turned her sick. Lilja and Ranna traveled alone from then on. At first they never stayed in one place long, but as they got further away from their home, Lilja became more relaxed and less convinced that the hunters were still on their tale. She was bitterly hurt by the whole experience, and blamed Alar; his lies and selfishness had torn their family apart. Lilja filled Ranna's head with hatred for her father and his wicked flock. When Lilja finally passed away, she left Ranna with only one purpose. To finally seek out her father, and avenge the death of not only her mother, but her innocent young brothers.
