Description
Three puppies were born to the mating of Lilja and Alar, in the Brazeau pack. Ranna was the only girl, preceeded by mere minutes by two brothers.

The lighter grey and white was named Torrigan. He was the quietest of the litter, and his brother often pushed him around. Torrigan sought approval from his family, and the little interest that Alar showed in them affected him deeply. Torrigan was very thoughtful and compassionate, but he harboured a spiteful streak. Had he lived to young adulthood he would be wiry and lean, capable of holding a grudge for all of time. He would have been a more gentle soul, a ghost among the forest who rarely sought the company of others, finding so many to be over bearing.

The darker wolf was named Orannis. His blue eyes were a surprise to everyone, somehow inherited from generations before him - the last blue eyes wolf in the family that Lilja could recall had been her great grandmother. Orannis was the strongest of the litter, and loved to brawl with the siblings, although he tended to isolate Ranna from their games, claiming she would bite too hard and swipe too roughly. He would have grown into a powerful and formidable wolf, detached from his family and mostly only caring for himself. He would care nothing for Alar, but of the litter, he would be most like his father, power hungry and cunning.

Both brothers were killed as puppies when Alar fled the pack, and the wrath of the Alpha extended instead to the family he had left behind. Only Ranna was spared, when the cries of her father's ravens drew her from her nesting den and away from the danger that would shortly arrive.
