In the weeks since the tragedy of Taika, Pekhat had been inconsolable. While her fear and worry about the fate of her son had always lingered within her, now it had risen like bile. She hardly ate, hardly slept, hardly even smiled at all. Sutekh grew weary of it: why was she unhappy? She had him, did she not? Why did she need anything else?

He knew that there was no way to convince her not to search for Haroeris, so he resigned to being at her side when she did, always hoping that they did not spot him. And on that fateful day when the flash of blue and gold caught his eye among the undergrowth, he raised the alarm - but sent his sister racing in the opposite direction. Here, after all, was an opportunity to end her pining forever, and be rid of his nephew... as easily as he'd been rid of Luka.

It was easy. To take his sister's face, to get close enough to strike. Sodden, weak, and alone, Haroeris never stood a chance. It was over in an instant, and before long, the blue eyes that did not belong to him were gazing down at Haroeris' body with a smug satisfaction.

But the commotion had drawn her back, and Sutekh had underestimated the swift paws of a mother in desperate search of her son.

There was a second of confusion, as she skidded to a stop and took in the scene. Haroeris, dead, and Pekhat, standing over him. But it was not Pekhat. Only the real Pekhat could know -

"You."

"Pekhat, I can explain -"

But she did not let him. The pieces fell into place, and Pekhat set upon her changeling brother in grief and fury.

And in the chaos, neither one noticed the dark audience, camouflaged perfectly into the shadows between the trees; nor the pair of yellow eyes, wide and aghast, watching as one wolf attacked their copy.

As our beloved buddy Minnow is leaving Svajone this season, me, Jae and Minnow all decided we needed to wrap up at least this, the most important plot between our group of characters and one that we had been building to for some time. So, we did this collab together, to finally drop the big reveal. Sutekh finally manages to be rid of his nephew Haroeris, but at great cost: and the crime is witnessed by none other than Signy.

Mjinno, while we are never gonna stop being friends, I sure am going to miss writing and building stories with you. Thanks for being such an awesome RP partner all these years, in Svajone and before! Thanks for letting me adopt Peks and be part of this terrifying dysfunctional family, and this crazy plotline. I'm glad that we could see it through to the end, and who knows... perhaps we will see our favourite murderous brother again one day.
