Description:
Developed out of the UNSC Modernized Project that also developed Autumn-Class Cruiser, the Commonwealth Heavy Destroyer impressive size puts it close the length of a UNSC cruiser. Based on the Paris Class Frigate, the Destroyer is still half the size of a cruiser, but contains a similar to larger armament compliment.
While the Autumn-Class quickly entered service, the thirsty ammo demanded by the heavy armament lead the Commonwealth-Class not enter service till after the Human Civil War. After the remnants of the UNSC settled on Installation Zero and began construction of new ships and technologies. Taking advantage of Forerunner technology and manufacturing the UNSC was able to address many of the issues with the Commonwealth-Class. Using more powerful Energy Reactors derived from Forerunner Technology, the Commonwealth-Class uses a next generation Spitfire Turrets that use plasma energy, instead of traditional projectile weapons. The M920 Rampart Point Defense Network still uses the traditional 50mm projectiles that coated with an energy shield penetrating proprietary.
The Destroyer is equipped with two Rapid Fire MIV Heavy MAC, that placed on top of one another. Each Cannon is able to fire two MAC rounds in quick succession, totally in four rapid fire shots.

This reminds me Iβve been trying to find a model of the UNSC frigate specifically the one from Reach but without much luck.

The Paris Class can be found in m45.map, itβs under vehicle/UNSC Fleet/Frigate
I believe they mislabeled it as a StalwartClass, and the turrets are a separate model. Β

Update: Well I found and ported the model but no matter what I do it will not render properly. The part of the model that is the bridge and aft section always appears transparent even with a non-transparency texture applied. I've tried everything I can think and am almost tempted to discard the model and build a completely new one from scratch.

Might be how you loaded the texture file into your program. Because the alpha channel in the DIFF containes the the specular level, it can do goofy stuff sometimes. I assume you are using lightwave, which I am unfamiliar with, how does it's shaders apply an oppacity? Is it source from the diff or seperately from another map.
In max you can applie a normal modifier and add unify them to make them two way or force it in the renderer. Hard to tell these days, Adjutant has been pretty bad lately on exporting stuff, it can't properly export a skin for me without errors that I hace to manually correct.
