Horse Skill System | Rider Skill system | Levels
The point system is in two parts, the first part is the points that tells you how good your horse is at something. The second part is what ranks your horse. Your horse will through these points reach a level that unlocks different rewards and bonuses, it also decides how much percent the foal will get from each parent. Both parts are just as important, and a horse with a high level can get bonuses in competitions etc.
The point system is optional and doesn't need to be used by everyone. If you decide to use it, keep it somewhere where it's easy to find! Make sure it's obvious where the points goes!
How do I add points?
Further down you will see how much each drawing gives you. A drawing that gives, lets say 8 pts, will add 8 pts to the skills (if you drew a jumping horse, it will add to jumping), it will also add 8 pts to the level points. So to make it easier, you could say that the level points can be seen as experience!
What classifies as 'Coloured'
Any image that is more than a lineart. This does not count if the image has a single colour over it like this )
Will art by others / Collabs etc count the same?
Yes, except in the cases of show images. Read below for more information.
My character is featured in a show entry?
- If you are featured in the background (ie watching, warming up ect), it is normal points.
- Extra images featuring riding that is not on the same day as the show will count as a training image.
- If your feature counts as a separate entry(ie, A team event, with class A being drawn by you, and class B being drawn by the other team member, where the images will be judged as separate classes, both images will count as show entries.
- If the class is a team event, where both entries count, but only 1 placing is given (if, for example, the scores are averaged between your entry and your team members), only one image may be used as a show entry. The other will count as a normal drawing. You may pick either image to count as the show entry.
- Collab show entries will only count once as a show image, and if uploaded by both artists, the second image will not give points (as it's the same image)
Extra Show Images?
Extra images will count as any other image. If your characters are drawn arriving to the event, it will be counted as a normal image.
However, if your extra image is a training image (must feature the character before the day of the event to count as training), the image will count as so.
Warm-up images will only be counted as normal images as you won't have time to teach your horse anything new.
What about Schooling points?
If you participate in the schooling we have in HARPGworld or DressageElites training your points count as double! This is to encourage using these functions.

if you're featured in another person's show entry, how would that be counted? I know a lot of groups count it as training but I wasn't sure c:

Oh wow, that's a good question
If the class is one you've entered already, such as both Entering Class A as separate individuals, where your horse is featured in the background warming up, watching ect, it will only count as a normal image (not training, not showing, just as an image)
If the class is a shared one, such as pair showjumping, pas du duax, team endurance ect, then you can use either image to count either as the image counting for the show (if for example, you draw only a partial body in yours, but the other people draws a full-body of your character, you may count their image as if gives you more points.), the other image, however, will count as a normal image as is the same class, you can only gain the points from 1 entry image.
If however, the images are from a joint event, but each person is drawing for a different class/section where each image is judged separately (ei, you can win from twice) these would be counted as two separate show entries.
The only time it will count as a training image is if you are doing extra images where your character is featured training (can not be a warm-up image. Must strictly be training, must occur before or after the day of the show being entered)
Long story short, if your feature counts as a separate entry, it's counted as a show image points (unless those points are already being awarded by another image.)
If you are featured in the background, it is normal points.
Extra images featuring riding that is not on the same day as the show will count as a training image.
Hope that clears it up. The Point system needs an update, sorry. If your still unsure, send me the images I'm happy to help

Two questions
One, just to clarify if you have a full body coloured image that would be 2pts, and then shading would stack on top of that for 5pts?
And second, would a bg like this -Β Hellfrost Β - count for any of the categories or no?
π: 0 β©: 1
Syxil In reply to Peplasto [2019-03-06 05:42:11 +0000 UTC]
Yes, the red dot points (such as flat colour), always count, meaning that shading is stacked.
As for the background, you can count that as a flat background (1pt), or a simple background (2pts). You can choose what is more appropriate for you, but here's examples of what i classify as flat, and simple for myself, and you can use this or choose differently based on your own ability.
Flat (even though it's not technically flat, but it took next to no time to do.
Simple (took a little time, but was mostly a lazy attemp at a background.
Complex (Because it took forever)

For wild horses (story purposes), can training be through another horse? i.e. I have a mare who will be training in earth and stealth magic under a wild herd of horses. Will that count so she can level up without compromising the storyline? Obviously show images would be outside the story, but it would be nice if magic training with other horses would count

That is a good question. Hm......I guess, as long as someone is getting trained by someone else who is better at the subject, than why not.

Aye, excuse me something to messed up here. XD literature is on there twice? And the story from each art was supposed to removed. Im sorry about the confusion, but I will correct it. Where it says story under entry, training image etc that was due to be removed with the new addition for literature. Not sure what happened there or why its on the list twice either e.o As the news post explains, any stories before the update will not count, simplt as horses with a lot of art/stories could take a while to calculate so any future stories from.this point on count.Β

π: 0 β©: 1
Syxil In reply to smolponpon [2017-02-07 04:41:28 +0000 UTC]
Simple compared to detailed depends on the persons own skills. We would have examples, except it differ for everyone. It depends how much effort you put in, so you can measure it. (If you put a lot of effort into it, it's detailed, if you only did enough to pass, then it's simple.)
For me, detailed is this: Commission 1 |Β Commission 2
And simple is this: YHH Β |Β Commission
But sometimes its hard to tell if an artist isn't so....skilled. Sometimes simple and detailed can look very similar, and the only thing separating the two is time and effort.

It's okay We'd rather you ask then get it wrong.
Yes, any artwork-regardless what it's drawn for, and as long as it features your horse, counts as points. It doesn't matter if the image is by you or someone else, or if it's for another group.
