Description
This is a screenshot commission created for MercyInk87 , featuring an original superhero father-daughter team, Typhoon and McKnight. In this image, McKnight encourages his daughter as she displays her powers of water manipulation beside a west coast pier.
I like it. A lot. >< FAKE SCREENSHOTS ARE THE COOLEST, YESSIR. My goodness, I even drew a background from freakin' scratch that doesn't completely and utterly suck. This is a good trend. A very good trend indeed.
Β <- This is the texture I used for the pier. Check it out!

I am a big fan of your work! Ever since I saw your Smallville miniseries. This is fantastic. And the background does look great, especially since you said you did it from scratch. Well done

Man! It was pleasure watching you work through this, and seeing the final product turn out so nicely is second-handed-ly rewarding. Have you ever worked or drawn that kind of animated water before? It blends very well with the rest of the image and this definitely reads as a "fake screenshot". I might have to try that trick/technique you mentioned for doing your line art. I hope I'm able to continue catching your stream as well!

We're releasing a Kickstarter for the miniseries they're in around July. I'll make an announcement when it goes live.

In my mind, this is after a heroic outing in Santa Cruz or LA. With them being from Monterey, Ca (my hometown) it's more likley to be Santa Cruz.

So glad I could watch the stream a few times to see its progress because seeing where you started to get to this is AMAZING! (Wish I got to see you do the background... that's what I get for sleeping past 10am because I'm a night owl)
That background looks so good! That beach and ocean waves looks so fun and tropical! Makes me want to actually visit the beach! (But wear lots of sunscreen for our white bread skin) The pier looks so good too! Oh man! McKnight looks so heroic but older fatherly, you nailed it! Those belt pouches too, looking good. Well, he IS old. 260 to be exact. He was 19 when the Declaration of Independence was signed and was the first US Marine. He's a true immortal. Working on multiple titles for him right now. A group one and another that follows these two together.
