That might be it. Plus the rougher look of the pencil fits the drawing better. Got any primsacolor pencils laying around?

I dont usually use coloured pencils on graphite drawings, especially shaded ones, you just end up with dull dark colours plus this is pin up, classical pin up was like the genesis of airbrushed cleaned up images.
