This was my first go at "En Garde.JPG", back when I was still figuring out how to pose my subject... but along the way the pose shifted, the figure became noticeably feminine, and I opted to roll with it and start my initial endeavor anew. Along the way, my new subject began to take on features of a much, much older work of mine, but did not go much father than a extremely rough sketch. This one remained mostly unchanged for a couple of months until this morning, when I needed a blank canvas for a new idea...

Since I was not really feeling this one so much, I moved to erase this one. I'd only wanted to clear up some vague lines and make the rough a little prettier when quite suddenly, I got more ideas; I had to commit them to memory! It still was not enough to save this one from the rough sketch stage (I'll blame the clothes for that one; I was in no mind to learn to draw cargo pants properly), but the basic idea should be enough there to come back to this subject if I wish.
