This. Was supposed to be a doodle. A doodle! A fun little thing that takes a couple hours tops and is easily erased! What happened here? O_O;;
...Well, unintentionally high quality aside, I'll try to make this description a quick one.

So I've already talked about the NumberSMP Discord server at some length (though you can get a reminder here: ), -->

--> and more specifically how I'd be submitting drawings I've done for that community in reverse order of completion, yes? Well, here's where we'll properly start, I think.

We NumberSMP server denizens are a varied bunch both in and out of character, and with there being so many of us, some smaller friend groups were bound to pop up in places, even though we all get along as a whole. This is one of the more infamous mini-squads: a quartet of writers (yes, writers! There's artists of all kinds here - visual, musical, writerly, there's at least one dancer- I'm so, so amazed by the talent in our numbers!) collectively described as the "Angst Square" for their choice of literature genre created.

This, however, was no tragic tale: we all love Minecraft Championships around here - there's even a dedicated channel for liveblogging reactions together every month - and one of them got the idea to make a self-insert AU for the tournament! That quickly caught steam, the original perpetrator wrote the beginnings of a fanfiction (with, strangely enough, a cameo from this artist), another member brought in artwork from an off-server friend, and there was so much excitement! I already thought the idea was adorable, and started drafting this one either the day of or the day after they began brainstorming.

That... turned into a few days more than anticipated, because I added in some never-before-drawn, learnt-on-the-fly concepts yet again - namely, the fact I was making a tight group shot in the first place! I've never drawn so many people on one page and seen it to a finish before, heh.

I'll avoid disclosing names, these are living, breathing people who deserve privacy... but I will tell you that the MCC teams in this story look to be themed after either fruit or plants (the team name here is the Apricot Angstsquares), and that the group's original three members forged themselves a reputation by way of kin assigning many of our general server members DreamSMP characters through an intensive multiperson interview... or interrogation, depending on the context ^_^ - this helped with posing and expressions a great deal. From left to right we have "TommyInnit," "Dream," "Tubbo_," and "Wilbur Soot."
