The second of my whiteboard-marker-on-glass-door tests, this time in black ink. I'd realized over sketching out my first drawing on this cabinet that I could work extremely fast - and this being something I've hoped to attain for years (other artists, I'm not sure how you do it! A sketch-to-final project in two hours? My weeks-long project times quake at the thought), one badly-contrasted photo would not deter me.
I simply *had* to know.
Still with no clear ideas how to proceed, and having already done one self-portrait that day, I just started drawing shapes and building them up into a roughly-shaped body. It sort of... got made up as I went along. This might not be a bad thing, though. I've always wanted to hone in on a simple, chibi-esque style for comedy purposes, and this struck far closer than other attempts I've done.
With a hasty finish time of two or so minutes, I snapped a photo and nervously awaited the verdict... and was surprised, pleasantly so. Considering this was a straight shot with no filters, the lines could be read very well, if only improved with more substantial inking. Which begged the question: could this technique be taken any further? I hope to check in once I have more experiments to show you.
