So, I've put a bit more thought into my Steven Universe OC, Obsidian. I moved her gem to just below her right eye. I figure that on homeworld, Obsidians are treated as assassins and soldiers. Trained at their formation to kill while also following a strict set of rules. The way they look is very uniform and lacks any individuality (similar to how Rubies are), they are to be emotionless and are to take orders without question.

Crystal Gem Obsidian joined with the rebels due to a desire to be her own gem instead of being part of a collective that thought and spoke as one. She also found the liveliness earth incredibly refreshing and something meant to be preserved instead of destroyed for the gain of a gem weapon. Obsidian suffered greatly in battle, many of her friends who followed her into the ranks of the Crystal Gems were shattered beyond repair and their shards lost (possibly experimented on as forced fusions). She was badly injured right at the end of the war and woke to the tragedy. Filled with sorrow and in need to process her guilt and her mourning, Obsidian left what remained of the Crystal Gems for several years of solitude and travel.

From right to left she's changed her appearance. Her homeworld self is very flat. Middle version is her physical change after her first injury as a Crystal Gem, so she took some liberties with her looks and changed much of the way she looked. The final version of her is a bit more reserved but still very unique.
