"The Dusklight Dance of the Capricious Carver"Once upon a Halloween,
There was a Carver, ne'er seen.
Begun had the Harvest Moon,
Summoned was the pumpkin loon,
Who'd make some wish they'd never been.
Start did grave Autumn,
Caution'd were the children:
"Touch not the hallowed Jack
Lest ye invite his Wrath!"
But heed the warnings they did not,
The ungrateful imps,
Ravaging His favored crop -
His precious gourds.
Rage-gone-feral
Crimson-Gleaming
Passed from eve into mornin',
The children all a-missin',
Parents all in shock-
But boy did they talk
"They never listen'd to our warnin'!"
