Description Spell Circles are Malisa Jals's primary form of offense and transport. They rely on a two-word system of activation, the first word a descriptor of the type of move, and the second beginning with a letter keyed to the person. For example, Malisa's spells are keyed to the letter "B", such as Gravity Bascule or Ripper Baetyl. There appears to be no limit to the creative potential of these spells or at least none that have been discovered, aside from the area of effect and the shape of it.

A particularly appealing aspect of the Circle is that it contains the magic inside quite well, so nothing is 'wasted' in use like it would be in other bombastic spells, such as Fira. One thing of particular note is that there is a secondary boost to the circle to be achieved (and as such isn't applied unless the user puts effort into it). The more detailed the design of the circle when summoned, the more sheer power and force is in the spell. However, this relies on a secondary set of reserves than typical magic. this requires mental energy, so naturally the more one uses, the harder it is to think and concentrate. A Circle that does not rely on this isn't worse for the wear, it simply is just not as powerful.

Also, it seems that Spell Circles have the potential to travel across any of the omniversal axis. The easiest by far to traverse is the Parallel axis.

The first Spell Circle (modern) was designed by Isilma Jals, who disappeared soon after learning the basics, leaving his sister with his notes. His current wherabouts are unknown. The book that he pulled the inspiration from is written in a runic language, and as such uses a runic system to create circles.

A subset of this are the Spell Spheres, which are far better at containing magic than the circles are, and thus are more effective at their use.
