Opal sighed weakly as she was told the next job she had to do. She nodded, rubbing her temples as she listened.
“... I see. Alright, very well. Let’s… Let’s see. I’ll need a stepladder, and some time to get myself dressed.” She said, bluntly. Leaving the shopkeep to gather the stepladder and paints, she set off to get herself dressed.

She dressed somewhat simply this time, keeping her usual clothes on and simply tossing her splattered apron and long coat on over the top of them. There was no need for some long, drawn out dressing for such a simple, if still risky job.

After a brief moment of deliberation, she also strapped on her face mask, so the smell of paint wouldn’t make her dizzy.

Her Mime Jr even joined in, stripping one of her many pillows of it’s case and tying it on as an impromptu face mask. The woman chuckled softly, patting it’s head.
“Alright, shall we?” She asked. The eager Mime nodded, jumping up onto her shoulder excitedly. Opal scratched under his chin with a small smirk, before heading back out, tying her hair back into a bud to keep it from bothering her.

It didn’t take too long to find the Exeggutor- Thankfully it’s Alolan variant stood out quite a lot, easily able to be seen towering over everyone. As she approached, Opal saw tarps laid down under it, likely to catch stray paint- Not the use she was used to, but a valid one nonetheless.

There were also all kinds of paints- Mostly greens, dark and light alike. Opal perused them carefully, looking over each to be sure of the palette she was working with. There were also a stack of stencils nearby, likely to make painting certain swirls and markings easier. She nodded slowly, looking over the rest of her supplies- A note from the Exeggutor’s owner detailing the general design they were wanting, most importantly.

“Hmm…” Opal perused it carefully, ensuring she understood entirely before looking over the rest.

Paintbrushes, pencils, erasers, and a sketchbook to get a feel for the general design before she put paint to Pokemon. A screwup would likely be expensive to undo, after all.

Opal sat down and got to work, humming to herself as she tried to figure out how to ensure she could deliver on the client’s requirements.

After much deliberation and many scrunched pieces of paper, Opal decided on what she wanted, and stood, laying the sketchbook open nearby for easy reference. She then found her stepladder, and set it up, ‘hmm’ing to herself as she set it up, looking up at the tall, dopey tree she had to work with. Up until now, it had been entirely passive, occasionally rustling the tarp beneath it with gentle movements.

But according to the shopkeep, it was ticklish… Which was unsettling. Carefully, Opal tested that, running a finger along the Exeggutor’s leg. She got an immediate reaction, as it barked happily, shaking leaves down on her and kicking it’s legs back and forth, head swaying. Opal covered her face protectively while she waited for it to calm down, then sighed. This was going to be… difficult.

After a few minutes of thought, she released her Spiritomb, which hissed spectrally, curling around her protectively. Opal smiled weakly.
“Okay, Exspiravit. I want you to hold it in place with Shadow Sneak. Wrap yourself around it’s shadow and hold it in place as firmly as you can. Got it?” She asked. The ghost nodded, and with a hiss, it faded into shadow. A few moments later it burst out of the Exeggutor’s shadow, curling around it’s body and freezing it in place, despite it’s complaints.

“This is risky, if you let it go for even a moment, it will probably knock you out, Exspiravit. So hold it tightly, alright?” She asked. The Pokemon nodded tightly, not able to move much due to it’s position restraining the Exeggutor.

Opal sighed in relief. Once more, she set up the stepladder, and began climbing, getting a close look at the surface and texture of the Alolan tree Pokemon, to try and figure out what kinds of brushes or paint she’d need to use to ensure the right coat.

After some more deliberation, Opal decided it was time to finally actually get to work. She descended the ladder, collecting her things before once more ascending. Opal had been putting off this part, mostly out of worry for her Pokemon. If this thing knocked any of them out, she would be mightily annoyed… Not that she could do anything against the monster of a ‘mon, of course.

With a final, worried sigh, she dipped her paint brush in the paint, carefully laid the stencil on the surface of the Exeggutor, and began painting, holding in a breath as she prepared for the possible breakout of laughter from the immense hulking tree-thing.
