what's the point if half the people can't even vote due to the lack of android/apple devices? :\

I find it funny how they want us to vote on mobile devices yet they don't even have a DA Mobile App.

When you find a way to get rid of recolours and screen edits, blatant smut, and just generally shitty MLP/Sonic/Homestuck/generic anime bases and 'art,' you will get my vote for People's Choice.

Knowing the mlp fandom , yup i have seen horrible re colours but sometimes it can depend .
As long as it is not over bright , or just colours splashed on it then i'm okay.
meh the staff won't listen becasue it's just about the money, some comments have been hidden in this journal becasue they can't face the truth

A recolour isn't even art, its just using the paint bucket tool and then claiming someone else's work. Its not even trying to make art. But yeah, in my experience dA staff either do not listen or take so long that it doesn't matter.

You have just discriminated against everyone in the MLP, Sonic, Homestuck, and Anime fandoms. That is rude an uncalled for. The only way DA can 'get rid' of their art would be to kick them off, and no mature website like DA will ever do that. And if you don't want to see smutty art, then don't open things with mature content on them.

I'm part of the mlp fandom and in no way shape or form has their comment offended me.
There is way to many mlp bases on this site, the only one i use would be peoples original base making.
This site it clogged up way to much.
Opinions are allowed on this site, but hey does not apply to the staff becasue this site is screwed .
Heck some comments are hidden in this journal because staff can't handle the truth

phantomrobin80jet In reply to Pony-who-waited [2014-03-12 19:37:32 +0000 UTC]
I just don't think it's fair for people to so blatantly discriminate against other fandoms, or people with lesser skills. It's great that you're not offended by it, but it was still a rude thing to say. And I agree the staff isn't willing to listen to the truth, but saying the site needs to get rid of a certain fandom's art is a pointless complaint that DA couldn't possibly respond to.

I can understand sometimes that may not be the most greatest way in saying it.
I just think some people are tired of the mlp fandom and sonic ( don't know nothing about that one )
DA may not have the time but they could be allot more helpful than in just sitting their probably counting their money.
Meh mlp fandom is being it's self it's just a spilt fandom to be honest theses days

It's an opinion. Everyone has 'em. If you can put up with sifting through piles of garbage to look for some decent art, that's your prerogative, but I'm free to express my frustration with the current status quo. I don't honestly expect them to kick anyone off for having a particular kind of fandom, but that's a given considering they won't even do things that matter like help stop art thieves quickly. Still, I stand by my statement and it's implication that the majority of fanart which corresponds to those franchises are utter garbage shat out by a ten year old with a mouse and MS Paint. Finally, I'm not referring to smutty art. I have no problem with that. I do take offense to seeing people's genitalia flying free under the guise of being 'art.' (In case you're not old enough to know, the mature setting is all or nothing- block everything or show everything, this includes thumbnails.)

phantomrobin80jet In reply to rotolotto [2014-03-12 13:25:34 +0000 UTC]
I actually think that the mature content should be More all or nothing, I think there is to much crap that isn't flagged 18 or older, but really should be. You just suggested that the only way you would support DA is if they got rid of all the 'crappy' art, and it isn't in the websites power to do that, so I can't figure out why you would bring a problem they can't and won't solve to their attention.

Why yes, I did give my personal feedback in a comments section, for that is the very purpose of comments. Its not a compliment section, its a place for comment, where personal opinion reigns. I don't know how many more times I have to bring this up in this conversation.

The fact that you gave an opinion doesn't bother me at all. I disagree with your opinion and think it was wrong of you to call out other fandoms and lesser artists, that is why I brought up the point in the first place. I also can't figure out why you would complain to DA staff about the sheer amount of art in other fandoms, they can't help that. I don't know why you think I'm convinced comment sections are strictly for compliments, I never once said that.

Miss/Mister- when you find away to open your eyes and realize that there's real art on here and generally fantastic and amazing artists and people, probably way more than "shitty MLP/Sonic/Homestuck/generic anime bases" and etc., that's when I think you'll begin to actually appreciate dA.
And random, but I like your username. It's pretty cool.
