First time introduction to EVE from the comp. Love the concept and the youtube vids i watched. Got really inspired and decided to do an entry. hope you like. Please all comments welcome. its the only way we learn.Related content

Hey there still wanted to ask you as a eve player about strategic cruisers. I have been trying to read up on ship design and philosophy behind it. And came across this article

so have would that effect your designs as this would change a lot of how i would design a ship.
Do we factor this in or stick to the tried and tested ship design?

Strategic cruisers are Cruisers of the third tier, they are rather unique, as each race has their own Strat cruiser.
They're rather expensive and hard to get since you have to get the parts and blueprints from ancient sleeper's lairs, they are located in wormholes that bring you into unknown depths of space.
To balance a strategic cruiser out takes a lot of knowledge of the game, and really it does its name justice because a group of a few of these will do SERIOUS damage to enemies that aren't prepared specifically.
The interesting thing about the appearance is that when you interchange modules, the appearance of these can change dramatically, the only indication of what a strategic cruiser has under the hood will be the visual one, or the one of your ship melting.
Long story short, theyre currently pretty unique, maybe if you design a faction one you get bonus points (since there are already racial ones), but i wouldn't start that trial, since there are many different combinations of looks possible, I believe it was 4^5 combinations, try drawing that!

This ship could well be either a t2 frigate (second tier smallest combat class ship) or a faction ship with special bonuses.
Keeping in mind that this is Amarr, you can consider good laser weapon strength and armor defence (as opposed to shield for some other factions)
There could be a +37,5% permanent bonus to energy turret strength and 10% energy turret tracking per level, maybe a role bonus for something.
The baseprice may be around 30 million ISK with those stats.
You'll really have to try the game and see for yourself to understand what i'm on about though!

They don't exist yet, and i think it's highly impractical to have a contest with t3 (modular) ships, seen as the appearance of said ship is based on what modules you stick on.

I can realy get into the politics of this game. it sound very complicated from some of the coments i have read on other entries. I thought you had to stick to one race, but some of the others have 2 of the races combining there efforts. But i love the idee of creating a backstory to a new ship, maby somthing like a dedicated drone carier in the back-ops department? YES?

Heheheh i love how you're thinking ahead now, it would be strange to have an Amarr ship join forces with gallente, but maybe as a guristas pirate.
To be honest i think the contest ship will feature in the new expansion, it will be focused on the war against Guristas pirates so youll have a good chance if you make this into a Guristas ship with drone capabilities!

hmmm Definitely Amarr, but it looks impressive enough I could see it as a uber-ship, battlecruiser or battleship class, with bigger dimensions, like 600-800m tall type thing
